  1. I realize that resistance is futile but I hope you can come to some solution that makes you happy.
  2. Speaking only for myself, I sure as heck wouldn't want to spend my days and nights checking photos for copyright.
  3. I'm curious as not having built that kit... what is the soldering iron used for during the build?
  4. Maybe just call it "Historcal Ships"? A first look, it's sounds like a great idea. But there will probably be a huge question over pictures being copyrighted and without vetting them, will really get problematic as each picture would need to be checked.
  5. Just another WOW moment, Glen. I think your finished photos ought to into the gallery.
  6. Add a photo or two. It might help.
  7. Update time. Been assembling cannon inspite of outside distractions. All 20 are ready to be installed and have quions inserted if needed (probably) for making all the barrels agree externally. I douibt I'll be rigging them as given the space and size of things (eyebolts and rope) and the fact they're all under "cover" it'll be more than I want or can do at this point. Working with the guns was in "spurts" of about 10-15 minutes with long breaks between sessions.. On the bright side, I found I can do it even though some eyebolts disappeared with a "ping" of the tweeers. Here's the photo of her teeth ready for installation.
  8. As some former military might say... "Stack 'em. Pack 'em. And rack 'em." Looks great, OC.
  9. Welcome to MSW, NavyShooter. Outstanding work on her and I like the idea of the adult beverage delivery system as it adds some novelty. I'd like to suggest you open and intro topic in the New Members area.
  10. Thanks Keith. I think that's what I would do if I were full time RVing. We had one decades ago and while not model ships, we did meet up with lots of folks she knew online. This was back in the USENET days.....
  11. Given that once the fully loaded weight is known and then testing for the amount of balllast needed, could a solid material be used instead of liquid? Or does this really need to be dynamic? I'm thinking something bricks or scrap steel blocks that can be removed .
  12. I was once told that every artist (and yes, we are artists here) needs to 2 things..... a critic and gun. The critic for advise and feedback and the gun for the critic to use on the artist when he/she says "it's done... enough.".
  13. Go for what you feel is best, Chris. No matter which way you build it, it's still going to be a special gift.
  14. Welcome to MSW, Mark. Periodically, check the Clue News and NRG New and Information areas. You might near a meeting in your travels. Good on starting a build log also.
  15. This is just a review in the review area. I would assume/hope that when he starts building he'll open a log.
  16. I'd suggest opening a build log to carry on from here. This area is more for methods and jigs than a build.
  17. Sounds like their molds are shot which happens to often. I wonder if they lost the originals and so can't create new molds or it's a question of money... err... profit? Yes, digital printing is the way to go.
  18. The popcorn machine is always available, OC.
  19. Richard, You might consider asking about ballast tank "design" here:: https://modelshipworld.com/forum/13-discussions-for-ships-plans-and-project-research-general-research-on-specific-vessels-and-ship-types/ Nor everyone reads all or even most logs but a lot of those with tech knowledge on ships read the Shop Notes, Research area.
  20. I agree. And then there's the headache of having another item on inventory with boxing., etc. I did notice a t;ypo in my last line.... it should read "there's not such thing as a "build and forget" model."
