    Mike, That portable beltsander seems to a very useful tool when it comes to sanding epoxy. I didn't know Foredom had such. Some day, some day......

    Feels so good to be back at the modeling table.

    The chainplates with eyes now installed. This was trickier than I thought. I cut out some material so the chainplates got a more natural flow.

    So after a while, little more than a month I am back at the table. In conjuction with downsizing of the house, (2700sq.ft and 4 bedrooms were to much for the Admiral and me) and a recent move I lost the stand intended for the Longboat. But it doesn't matter. I have a stand now, and using 1/16" brass rod to lift the longboat. They are not put together yet. However, I think this looks fairly good. Question, should I leave the base untouched or should I varnish it?

    So far when I have been using the Byrnes thickness sander, I have pulled a table outside, and done the work in the open air. But it's kind of hard and cold during winter time.

    Mike, those buoys are nice, I have seen the tug in combination with them. Getting a barge to pull behind the tug holding the buoys is another project to you do.

    Scott, I understand your question, but it came out funny. I need to know how to convert wood to metal too, that would make life so much easier....

    Sorry Pierre, My mistake. No the Dremel lathe disappeared in 1990. I haven't been able to find an official year though, so the year 1990 may not be accurate.

    Daniele, A warm . I have a previous life in the merchant marine. Very fun and awarding job. There are several "Connie" build logs you can look into and get valuable information, your build log will help you and us if you get stuck. Don't be afraid to ask questions, even though it may have been asked before.

    Scott, No but I wish. I have an old dremel lathe, only good enough for shorter pieces of dovels.

    simon, for a first attempt of carving you did a very good job. Just imaging how details will be in the future.

    If I recalling it right of reading the instructions (long time ago) the "false deck" should had been installed prior the bulwalks.. I could be wrong, need to find the instructions. Edit: However, nice progress and secondly you are not working slowly, you are paying attention to details! And getting family business in-between.

    Okay Erik, This is "bugging" me You need to update the pictures using an editor to mark the errors, because I can't even find a single one. This is an outstanding clean build.

    Yepp! Green looks so much better.

    Puckotred and Nisse, I would recommend the boxes used for fish tackle. I am using them and wrap the figurines in silk paper. Then label each compartment on the lid of what they contain, maybe with a picture of the figure.

    Bob, congrats to an amazing final longboat.

    Found an old DVD (2012) with TurboCad Deluxe 2D/3D, installed it on the laptop using the key license, opened up the program. Got a question about upgrade clicked yes, now running the Version 19. At no extra cost.
