Congrats on a job well done.  Too bad I cannot be at the meeting to cheer you on.  fom what I have seen and been told you have a very bright future ahead of you in modeling.  Put it in a case and enter it into the contest at Manitowoc.  I think you will impress the judges and your fellow modelers. What do you have planned for your next project?

Elijah - you show a lot of discipline having that other kit on your shelf and not starting it. And as a result you are nearing completion.

That's just too much temptation for me - 4 builds going right now and little noticeable progress on any of them.

Thanks Mike. I have too say, it is tempting. I'm getting another boat this weekend (I know, I have too many kits at this point) to add to the stash. I think the only things keeping me from starting multiple builds are the clutter on my work table and my urge to finish the boat I started back in 2015 :D! I haven't heard of your other two builds. Where are the other build logs? You make me feel like I'm missing something. The two build logs you have are looking very nice. It shouldn't be too long until you finish one of them, as you have started doing the rigging on your Niagara. By the way, thanks for looking in. I'm hesitant to update my log before I at least get the main boom finished and rigged, but I will update once it is. Have a good day!

Elijah - Besides Niagara, I am doing the Gun Deck cross section, USS Enterprise 1798 (no log) and a wooden RC sailboat. The sailboat is pretty much done but I have been looking on the shelf to see what I will start now. I actually counted last week - I have 11 kits on the shelf. I'm sure many have more than that,

Like I said, no discipline. And I've said this before - it's easy to start builds but difficult to finish them.

Keep it up buddy!

Thanks Lawrence! You're right, you are just a little bit early. I may have an update coming later today or tomorrow. All that's left is to build and rig the main gaff, install rigging for 3 more sails, build and rig the fore gaff, and lastly make and rig the flags. Anyway, there will be more later! Thanks for stopping by :).

Hello again! I realize it has been much too long since I last posted, being exactly one month ago. Since then I have finished the standing rigging, rigged the deadeyes, built an attached the main boom, and added the necessary rope coils. The rope coils are tricky to work with, but I think they look pretty good. I really like the way the ropes look paying through a block. You can probably tell because a lot of the pictures are just that :D! There's not much left now! OK, here are the pictures :D!post-14614-0-68712900-1485488920_thumb.jpgpost-14614-0-77192600-1485488938_thumb.jpgpost-14614-0-81381000-1485488986_thumb.jpgpost-14614-0-11825400-1485489016_thumb.jpgpost-14614-0-92840400-1485489094_thumb.jpgpost-14614-0-83023100-1485489141_thumb.jpgpost-14614-0-66328600-1485489320_thumb.jpgpost-14614-0-58667600-1485489367_thumb.jpg

Looks like the wait was worth it as you have done an excellent job! Your rigging looks very clean and neat. I would want to take closeups of it too! Won't be long now and you will get to start all over on the next one with a lot of knowledge and experience gained.

Good to hear from you - I was getting worried. Good work with your rigging. The whole boat has a great look to it.

Hi Dave! Thank you very much! Yes, the launching ways plans were part of what came with the kit. I did add a few supports so that the boat wouldn't fall over from a gust of wind.

Thanks Mike! I really like the way it is turning out.

It's good to hear from you again, JP! I tried to get some nice close-us and III think that turned out nicely. Thanks guys, though you do know that I pick all the pictures I post ;).
