Hi Frank, looking great.  The furled sail came out nice - I'm going to try and finish my ratlines tonight, and then tackle the furled sails on my Badger this weekend.  Your pictures give me inspiration :)

Hope you're doing well my friend.

Hi Frank,

You are making fun of us all.

You are saying that you are building a kit but you BUY an old ship!

Great weathering!

Hi Frank

Finally I found on my computer what I was looking for – an article about furled sails. I think it was copied from MSW 1.0.

Just food for thought…

Take care

Peter

Hey Frank, i love your weathering techniques at your ship... When i am as far to decide what kind of finishing to use, may i bother you with some questions and maybe get some of your weathering secrets.. ;-)

Hi Frank,

I forgot to mention in my last post, those furled sails look great my friend, you should make a tutorial on this topic, I think many builders want to achieve this particular look that you've made, top-notch job :)

Best regards,

Aldo

Thanks Aldo, I used Hubert's method to make the sails. It's a pretty simple process. and what i like is that there is no sewing involved.

The only thing I added to the cloth was a hem on the top of the sail to accept the lacing. I'm doing everything pretty much by eye, as I have no info or pictures to go by as to the size of the sails.I'm working on the sprit sail now,a ssoon as I have it set  I'll post some pictures.

Frank, we need to get a move on those sails. There have been idle threats with cannons loaded with cotton balls. I'm just sayin'....

Thanks,

Thanks Popeye, the instructions say to do that with all the yards. I haven;t done that with the foremast yards because I want them to be able to be raised or lowered, but I might have to end up doing that with this one. Thanks again.

I'd really like to have it so it's movable like the other yards, but if I can't do that, then its the pin... Well, it's a little TV time before I hit the sack, so I'll talk at you later Augie....

Hey Derek, thanks, glad you liked the sail, it's not the best, but it's a fair resemblence of a furled sail . let me ask you something, since you'er a Supply alumni, how did you attach the yard to the bow sprit on your build ??
