Just a small essay...

( I think that the result is satisfying )

Hi,

There is my snail speed...

New few updates...

All rigging except for sails and yards and topmast ratlines were finished... This is even a stage... ☹️

A work that shows the ship beautiful but is in fact too boring: Ratlines again and now for topmasts...

A help request...

Has the drawing a historical accuracy for the year of 1674 for the flags of the topgallant masts?

Ferit,

I also tried to research this for my Vasa (1628) I could not find much information. Though all the information that I found had flags going all the way up to the tip of the flagpoles, not under the upper caps.

So I decided to just add blocks then run the flag ropes down to pins (any close by) on the deck.  But I think that the way I attached the flags to the ropes may not be correct. There must have been a way to remove the flags from the ropes.

Thank you Michael for the reply,

I just remember, I had said that your Wasa Log was a reference book...

I will follow your example.

Attaching the flags to the ropes: IMO details can be omitted when the pieces of the model become too small. Otherwise it can be seen too crowded...

Hi,

Dave leaded me to his topic Masthead Trucks where I found the solution and I applied it to all masts having flag.

And I finished and fixed the stern flag mast...

The choosen is 3 a - b

Ferit,

Very nice solution - also the support pieces for that flag staff are very delicate and look excellent!

PS: thanks Dave - I have saved the photo that you included for my files as well.

Hi Ferit!

I seem to have missed your updates for the last year!! Must be the time difference between Istanbul and Vancouver.....The attention to the finer details of the ropework is truly impressive! And that shot of the model above really shows her in her majesty and beauty! Wonderful work!

I've been slowing down too - too much non-modelling activities and obligations....but it's nice to see the work of others progressing!

Hi,

I took a break from the boring tying ratlines and I made a trial for a buoy... Imitation of the rigging came from the last picture.

Hi Denis,

Thank you for your kind words.

You are very productive...

Me, at least 10 years have passed, I am working still on this ship...

Who says modelling is an expensive hobby?!

1000 $ / 10 years / 12 months = 8 $...

Only 8 $ per month...

Unbelievable!...

😁
