I don't care what these guys have been saying OC. You have mannaged to come up with a very impressive Dio. One your dad would have been proud of I'm certain. It looks like when General Quarters shows up they will be fit and ready.

Thank you kindly Lou,   the Spit is there part  artstic license  and part  space saving in my display uinit  as I am running out of shelves,  but who is to say that they would not share the same apron space at some point - they were both on station at the same time.

I am almost certain that they would have flown out of seperate fields, at least if they were stationed in England. Later on, as things progressed through Europe, there may have been a shortage of airfields causing a little more mixing. BUT, when returning from missions with either mechanical issues or battle dammage, any landing field would do, and getting on the ground in one piece more or less was more important than who was already stationed there. So I am pretty certain that at some point in time, seeing a Spit and a Mossie next to one another would have been possible.

Thanks Lou,   my farther used to tell me of all sorts of  crash landings  at the various fields he worked at  so I agreee  - deffiantley  possible, in fact at RAF West Maliing  they were deffinatly  both  serving at the same time.

Really well done!

I was out in Edmonton the other week, and came across their local Aviation Museum, wherein they had a Mossie, and had it setup in a 'full scale' diorama, with a ground layout, a start cart, a bomb cart, tools, etc.  It was reminiscent of your display!

Thank you  kindly  Alan,  the  build  was based on memories  from chats  with my late farther  who used to  be an ERK  in the  RAF-FAAM   and   saw  this  kind  of scene  him self  a  good few times,  in the  dio  that was him  on the  ladders at the rear  of the  engine  extrusion, working on the  inward flaps.
