I bookmarked those two site you mentioned......one never knows when a Hood will end up on their table  ;)   it's great when you can find info like that.  it dispells a lot of guess work.   as for the gray.....it's new to me too,  although I do agree that flats are dominantly used........I would never use a gloss on a war ship

I chased this up today  the seller  (from china)  told me there is a delay as they have not actually been  made ready for distribution yet  from Flyhawk, and there will be a wait  (of unkown time frame)  before it will be  firstly sent to me then for it to arrive here,

That’s ok, it’s worth the wait!  It also gives you time to think about how you will display it and for any after-market items like gun barrels that you might be thinking of to arrive.   Scott

Thanks Scott  - very true over the time frame, with the metal barrels  I understand they are included in the kit as its the Delux edition.

My apologies OC, if I nudged you into getting this. The Prince of Wales hasn't shipped yet. I looked back at my last Flyhawk orders and they were ordered on May 12 and arrived on June 14. Hopefully the wait won't be much longer.

I have a dealer here state side that's getting one for me later this summer. From what he told me last month, it's due sometime around July-August unless some unforeseen difficulty comes up. There are other new Flyhawk releases coming out as well. He buys directly from Flyhawk.

In the meantime, I already purchased the "I Love Kit" version of the Hood which came with a wood deck, photo etch, and metal barrels. It's based on the Trumpeter Hood kit and sold on Amazon for a reasonable price and I bought it before I knew Flyhawk was releasing one. I plan to start it very soon.

Warm welcome mate,    there will be a bit of wait  yet  as the  supplier needs to wait for more to be built by Flyhawk I understand  so at a guess I would imagine a good few months away yet,   but I will keep adding little ditties  if I come across them.

I wonder how accurate the rocket launchers were and what the British thought of their combat capability.

Seems like maybe they were used for stationary targets not moving targets.

You might be  right mate, certainly havn't heard much priase for them or even talk about them being used  against moving objects.

I am  seriously  looking into  getting an airbrush kit,    it will be my last chance to get one if I do  -  I just think it will make some of my kit painting  easier than using rattle cans outside,   I have been looking in Flea Bay  and seen a few  (one that impressed me was not just the low noise 54db  but its from an actual  UK airbrush specialist.

Is it a case of getting a  fairly good one taht would serve me over the years  - or would any cheap one do as long as it was quiet  under 55db?

Think about it as learning to ride a bicycle. After you have learned to ride one and used it a couple of years, you can then appreciate a higher quality one. Until then, you are concentrating more on learning to use it than you are the quality of it. So I would say yes, a cheap one should be fine to get you through the learning curve which will take a while. I'm going to be honest and tell you it took a year or more before I ever got the hang of proficiently using my airbrush. And even after that, you learn more and more the more you use it year after year.
