  1. Outstanding work on the foremast Nils. Love the rigging - showing all the details. Love the photo of the ship plowing into that wave. Hmmm, brings back memories. Cheers,
  2. Beautiful work Patrick. Love the gloss on the paint, outstanding. All the detail items that are normally expected on such a boat really make the model come alive. Well done mate! Cheers,
  3. Stunning work on the netting Hennie and a well done repair, umm, what repair Cheers,
  4. Wow baby, I stay away for a couple of weeks and look what good ole Sjors has done, Just magnificent work. Or "schitterend werk" as the Dutch would say. Vacation? Where are yuns going Sjors? Somewhere warm I hope - - for your sake Cheers,
  5. Thank you Carl, Ian, Jan and Lawrence for the birthday wishes. Gwen and I didn't do anything special but I cooked dinner and enjoyed that with a glass of wine. Yes, i am still very busy with yard work. Had to reduce the height of my 5 Sweet Viburnum bushes that have grown into 30 foot trees. They are now just bare stumps at shoulder height. They should come back again and this time I'll keep them in control. I haven't been to the bench for a few weeks now but there is still a lot more work to do in the yard. Cheers,
  6. Beautifully done on the compass Nenad, a great achievement. Cheers,
  7. Just caught up with your marvelous build Patrick. What a beautiful piece of art she has become. A fantastic choice on the Mary Jean II. Will be following along for that one too. Cheers,
  8. Hey Popeye Denis, Just now catching up after a few weeks not being able to even log-on to MSW, to see what you've been up to. Wow, what marvelous additions to that boat! She's really coming along great. Never a dull moment in the Popeye shipyard - for sure. Cheers,
  9. Catching up on your build Nils. Have not been able to even log on MSW for a few weeks. Good to hear about the progress in your medical condition and glad seeing you back in the shipyard. Great looking work on the mast my friend, truly a realistic piece of craftsmanship. Cheers,
  10. Catching up after a few weeks not being able to visit MSW. Marvelous work Kees, truly amazing what can be done with plastic. Cheers,
  11. Just now catching up Mark after not being able to visit MSW for a few weeks. Marvelous work on the rudder boot and now the quarters. Your research is definitely paying off big time. Cheers,
  12. Thank you for introducing your family all together. You can rightly be proud of your father and his achievements, lot only for your country but to the world. Your casks look exceptional Nenad, and you have not yet reached the pinnacle of your modeling prowess. Cheers,
  13. Nice work on the details Patrick. Looks like she has plenty of entertainment places. The paint work really makes her grand. Cheers,
  14. Thank you all for the best wishes in reaching 82 years of life. I made dinner for a change, something I wanted to try. Baked wild salmon in with Dijon / maple syrup dressing, rice pilaf, carrots in maple syrup and a green bean salad with a Dijon - balsamic dressing. Yummo! John Texxn5, I felt the vibes and I hoisted a Leffe dark. Yeah, sorry for leaving yuns in suspense about my secret project. Still a few more things I need to test and try before I can go ahead and post the new build log. All y'all try staying in good health. Cheers,
  15. My heartfelt thanks to Mark, Patrick, JesseLee, Popeye Denis, Carl and Lawrence for you kind words and concern about my back. Back is doing fine as is the rest of the body. It's a great feeling being still in good enough shape to do it and be helpful to a nice neighbor. I did fix her broken lawn sprinkler pipe though this morning and cut groves in all the cracks in her driveway. Next is to show her how to fill them with crack sealer compound. I'm still too busy with chores around the house and yard that makes it difficult spending some quality time in the shipyard. Oh, I sneak in a few minutes working on my special project, trying different things and materials to realize what I see in my mind. I'm not ready yet to reveal it and start a build log. Some more experimenting is in order. I'm still not sure what to tackle next on the VOC ship Surabaya but that block of castello has moved to the breakfast table. Reason being, to draw the bow lion on it so I can start carving that puppy. Okay, all y'all be good and stay in good health. Cheers,
  16. Outstanding work Nenad, and even with the rope handles! Cheers,
  17. My mind is totally boggled by the detail you get by using that plastic stuff. Superb realism. Nice metal work too Kees. Cheers,
  18. Great looking lathe there JesseLee. A few years ago I demo'd a similar setup I used to turn a few small items. One has to use what one can to do the job. With time on hand all your canons will be completed sooner then you think and besides, it's a hobby and have fun. Hope you are feeling better soon my friend. Cheers,
  19. Nice bucket Nenad, it looks real! Cheers,
  20. Very impressive Hennie. I cant see anything wrong with that forecastle deck my friend! Cheers,
