  1. Well done on the Beaufort. Love the torpedo variant. Please do the Mossie. Can't have too many.
  2. Great job there. Love the finish and the loadout. Some of the Russian weapons look almost "Buck Rogers" in design, like their cruise missile. Can't wait for your next exploit. Is it going to be armor or aerial? Or some else entirely. Inquiring minds want to know...
  3. I have to bone up on these missiles. The rear-most is a ? Looks like a long range A/G weapon. the other 2 are A/A missiles. I'm out of practice.😙
  4. Those thick sprues are indicative of limited run kits. The molds aren't quite as sharp with the pour channels into the parts. A good pair of sprue cutting pliers makes quick work of them, but you may need a wee bit of cleanup. I'll follow along, Alan.
  5. Like Alan said, the engine is lovely. All the aftermarket you added, along with the extras Special Hobby already throws in, makes for one busy a/c build. One of my uncles made parts for this plane in North jersey and they were shipped to Brewster's plant in Buffalo (?), NY during the war.
  6. Best of luck with this beauty. These are limited edition kits, with tons of details. I'll be following with interest. I've built a few laser cut kits for layouts, but not one of these high end kits.
  7. The bird looks better and better. Looking forward to your additions. 😄 Your wife is a wise woman. Give her a kiss from us. 😉
  8. Cool, and he's already in his water survival suit of bright orange. That shot shows off the subtle ribbing in the radome. They are usually laminations. Very nice.
  9. Paint job and weathering were quite nicely done. Now, I want to see your loadout.
  10. Some of it was Goering's ego. Using Bf110 Zerstorers as escorts when then couldn't really protect themselves. Later, tying the the Bf109s to close escort of the bombers. Luftwaffe tactics were too restrictive; they had a good fighter, but employed it badly (luckily for the Allies).
  11. Had the pleasure of attending the air show at RAF Leuchars, back in 1996. Got to talk to the Spit pilot, since he and the Hurricane landed. The Lanc went elsewhere, I think. They're pretty cautious flying the museum pieces, but happy to talk about the aircraft.👍
  12. It is, for me, one of the best filmed flying movies. It was filmed in the late 60s and they had a B-25 with wide open windows flying the cameramen. Technology has made quantum advances since then. I've studied that campaign as part of my Air War College courses. The courses brought out the points EG stated.
  13. I always wanted to build a Sutherland, but it wasn't too available n my yoot here in the States (mid 60s). Did do a Lanc, Halifax and Sterling, All Airfix and I do remember the little glue bulb. Fun times.
  14. A tough break, EG, but that's life, warts and all. We're here for you. And you know how to get in touch with us. 😉 Nihil illigitimus carborundum.
  15. Nice when the weather's nice. Not so hot when it's raining or sleeting.
  16. I'm following, too. Interesting subject. These newer Airfix kits are much nicer than the early ones.
