  1. Jesse, I was looking for some information on sailmaking for my Pilot cutter and was pointed to your build, which I had forgotten, you did some amazing work on your sails. I finished going through the rest of the build since I last checked in. Congratulations late as it is on your beautiful model, your time on getting the sails looking right paid off in spades as the saying goes. Michael
  2. Patrick, I was thinking the same thing that those masts see really tall. I like the translucent nature of the cabin top. Michael
  3. Jeff, bob said it as well as i could have. Great to see your picking away at things, good luck with the shut down. A cheap source of good hard wire is bicycle spokes. michael
  4. Gary I just visited your build and what a beautiful model she is, very graceful lines and your workmanship shows them off very well. michael
  5. Congratulations on the finish Dan it must feel great to move on to the next project satisfied that you did your best. michael

  7. Michael for give me for using your thread to contact Ed May, but the PM's are not working. Ed I will be passing through Port Alberni on September 10th would like to get in touch please PM me. Thanks Michael
  8. Michael looks like you are doing a great job on the model, I like the details for the platform. Michael
  9. Igor the model looks great, I like the tip about the sails . Is the name printed on decal paper, or did you do the dot type printing as suggested earlier? Michael
  10. Checking in again, great to see the progress on the planking, I would imagine that on the full size ships of the period that a 3 inch variation would have been part of the plus or minus tolerance during the planking up from the keel and would have been corrected over a few planks as Druxey suggested on the model planking. Michael
  11. Beautiful clean work Alexandru, it is always a pleasure seeing your progress shots and how you approach the different tasks. Michael
  12. Patrick the model defies the size it always looks so much larger that it really is, a testament to your skill. Michael
  13. Hi Nils, catching up and Wow! you have done a great deal of work, your small details continue to show the level of skill you apply these areas that are so often shown with less finesse. Michael
  14. Bob I still have to move yet, but I also need to sell this place first. Then the mayhem will begin in earnest. Michael
  15. These things take longer than we think they will. I am doing a little model work, just not on boats at the moment. Michael
  16. Well done Bob she is a beauty! We will now sit back and watch the next great boat out of you shipyard. Michael
  17. The lines of these Herreshoff hulls are difficult to make any better, they simply exude grace. Michael
  18. No No you have it backwards Pud is training Danny, Pud could see that Danny needed more practice on those parts so gave Danny a bit of a push, you have to understand how a cats mind works. Perhaps a large mosquito net shrouding the bench area might cover for the lack of a door Sir. Danny every time I see your rigging I realize just how much there was to sailing these early vessels. You are doing great work in detailing these areas. Michael
