  1. Hi Patrick, Sorry to hear about the bad plans, but now you know the problem I have full confidence you will quickly be over the issue. It's become one of my Mantras " check the bloody plans " but " don't assume the plans are accurate ". Ben
  2. Hey Augie, don't forget to add the scupper ports to that outer hull. Enjoy the nicer weather. Ben

  6. Hey Rusty, not sure about a great touch, I do have an great Mentor though just like you do! Your Winnie is coming along beautifully. Thanks Patrick for always stopping by and your positive comments. Thanks to everybody else for the likes. No more picture updates until the first seven aft cant frames are completed, I have them all cut out and assembling this week. Ben
  7. Thanks Grant, Yeh, it seems every frame I add I see a little more of her emerge, and your right that this little sloop sure does have nice lines, can't wait to get all the aft cants in place and fair them up. Ben
  8. She really does look great Grant, and I guess the bittersweet feeling of completion is not far away. Any ideas on your next project? Inquiring minds and all that! Ben
  9. Thanks Andy, yeh this is the fun part tangeling with pesky cant frames that don't want to line up, had to remove one side of frame 3 as it decided to move position while the glue dried!! Here is aft cant pair #4 installed, just need to install the temp spacers. Ben
  10. Wow Alex, Those bulkhead panels and doors are exquisite, I love seeing your updates. Ben
  11. Hi Bob, Your doing a great job over there, I really like your QD framing, looks very clean and equal spacing. Ben
  12. Very very nicely done Remco, it does look like a tricky area to get right first time out. Ben
  13. Aft Cant frames 2 & 3 installed using some scrap basswood sized and shaped to fit as temporary spacers at the frame tops. Ben
  14. Wow Danny, that really is beautiful work on the cap rail and the contrast in woods is awesome. I'll remember this in a few years I hope. Ben
  15. Damn Mobbsie, did you buy the entire catalog? Congrats on the new tools! I'm sure you will put them to good use. Just wanted to say that the snaking is awesome as well. Ben
  16. You Lucky Devil Mark, I felt the same when my Swiss Pear turned up from Jeff, happy wood dance and had to keep going downstairs to the workshop to look at it, I hope he outlives me as I have many more purchases to make from him! Lol. So where is the sawdust we are all waiting for?? Ben
  17. She looks beautiful Albert, really well done and congrats on reaching that milestone. I hope my Pegasus looks that good when I get there. Ben
  18. And one side of the second aft cant frame being adjusted for fit. Ben
  19. Well here is the first aft cant frame installed. Ben
  20. Hey Keith, The Byrnes tools are engineered to last, no doubt about that. I think I use the disc sander the most of all my power tools, maybe even more than my scroll saw. Ben
  21. Thanks Rusty, Mark, Grant and everybody for the likes. Mark - I know the picture looks silly, sometimes I feel like destroying my phone but I wouldn't want to damage my precious Byrnes Sander. Anyway - the stern transoms have all been fitted and pinned in place successfully! I had left the ends of the transoms slightly overlength so I could fair them back to suit the aft cant frame which is what I'm doing now and I have started cutting aft cants 1 thru 7 out of 9" stock. Ben
  22. Hey Rusty, Will you be going to the NRG conference in Oct? I plan on going for the first time as it's reasonably near to me in St Louis. Ben
