  1. Hi and thanks for the comments and likes. As well as making the acrylic stands that will hold the stem/stern in place on the buildboard I have also started the stern framing. Here is the all important Wing transom cut out of 18" stock and the 3" roundup sanded in so the piece is 15" all the way across. Now to start the shaping. I have left the ends 1/32 oversize to allow adjustment with the cant frame. Ben
  2. Moving along nicely Rusty, I'll send some of my Pegasus cant frames to you as you always seem to work twice as fast as me. Ben
  3. Hi Dont fair the hull fully at this point, maybe 80%. leave final fairing until you have all gunports/hull cutaway and stern faming in place as you dont want to take it down too far before those pieces are there and fair them in as well. ben
  4. Wow, the discussion here is incredible? I hope I can learn 1/10 about it with my Pegasus, help me out guys! Ben
  5. Hi David, have at a swan class! But beware it is not for the foolhardy!
  6. Glad you decided to keep her au natural my friend, she's a credit to you. Now get that sternpost on and fair the planks into it and then you will have finished the lower planking
  7. Very happy to be around to watch you build Winchelsea, now who's a lucky boy then??
  8. I expect to see that big slab sided beast covered with planks in no time
  9. I think you did a great job on the planking Augie and I certainly don't think you should paint it. I bet your glad to have passed that milestone, just like I was!!
  10. Thanks Druxey! Here are the 3 pieces of rising wood complete with scarph joints being glued to the keel. I am not going to notch them for the frames like I did on the Echo as it won't be seen. Tomorrow I shall start marking out and cutting the rabbet and finish shaping the deadwood into the sternpost. Ben
  11. Thanks for all the likes. Rusty - Its a pretty large piece of cake to chew from where Im standing! Remco - praise from you means a lot! ben
  12. She looks great Gatean, you are a master. Ben
  13. Interesting thought there ED. Let us know Toni if you try that way and have success. Ben
  14. The sternpost has been glued and pinned to the keel and aft deadwood now, I have to finish refining the shape back there and then I will start making the rising wood pieces. Ben
  15. Nice work learner, I'm not looking forward to cant frames on Pegasus but I guess we all have to start somewhere. Ben
  16. Nice to see you flying along with the planking Sjors. Ben
  17. For the bolts i used 0.5mm brass rivets that I ordered from scale hardware.com ben
  18. Would like to share my condolences as well. The echo cross section is a great way in my opinion to get your feet wet in scratch building, I used it as a proof of concept to start my Pegasus and the plans, material from Jeff and of course help from Greg/David are invaluable. I wish you clear weather and good sailing and I will be watching with interest. Ben
