  1. Hi David, have at a swan class! But beware it is not for the foolhardy!
  2. Glad you decided to keep her au natural my friend, she's a credit to you. Now get that sternpost on and fair the planks into it and then you will have finished the lower planking
  3. Very happy to be around to watch you build Winchelsea, now who's a lucky boy then??
  4. I think you did a great job on the planking Augie and I certainly don't think you should paint it. I bet your glad to have passed that milestone, just like I was!!
  5. Thanks Druxey! Here are the 3 pieces of rising wood complete with scarph joints being glued to the keel. I am not going to notch them for the frames like I did on the Echo as it won't be seen. Tomorrow I shall start marking out and cutting the rabbet and finish shaping the deadwood into the sternpost. Ben
  6. Thanks for all the likes. Rusty - Its a pretty large piece of cake to chew from where Im standing! Remco - praise from you means a lot! ben
  7. Interesting thought there ED. Let us know Toni if you try that way and have success. Ben
  8. The sternpost has been glued and pinned to the keel and aft deadwood now, I have to finish refining the shape back there and then I will start making the rising wood pieces. Ben
  9. Nice work learner, I'm not looking forward to cant frames on Pegasus but I guess we all have to start somewhere. Ben
  10. Would like to share my condolences as well. The echo cross section is a great way in my opinion to get your feet wet in scratch building, I used it as a proof of concept to start my Pegasus and the plans, material from Jeff and of course help from Greg/David are invaluable. I wish you clear weather and good sailing and I will be watching with interest. Ben
  11. Greg, I think doing the transoms and hawse timbers will certainly not be a piece of cake for me, I can see them taking a good long time and plenty of do overs.
  12. Thanks for the likes. Patrick - I intend for the next build to be the 44gun Razee Frigate HMS Indefatigable, I have all the plans from NMM and working on and off with them in ACAD at the moment, but thats a long way in the future. ben
  13. Work on the sternpost has begun, complicated lining up with aft deadwood but moving along slowly is fine by me. Ben
