Simply Beautiful Rusty, I love how your Swiss Pear and Boxwwod go together, and the accuracy of your port lids is better than mine! ben- 149 replies

Hi Larry and thanks for the comments. I reprinted the Friezes on standard weight copier paper and then added a fixative ( Wife's hairspray laquer ) to try and prevent it from aging to badly, mine came out nicely I think, just remember you may have to resize them to fit your hull better ( 88% for me ). ben

SWEET Augie, That rigging looks awesome, glad you having fun with it. For some strange reason the rigging is one of my favorites parts of a build, not including ratlines of course ben

Yea Rusty. Thanks so much for rebuilding your Confed log, it's such a great help for me to see your work, just hope Chuck and Chris repost theirs as well. 1 question on the stern framing, I see when you had the template on there for marking the sill positions you lined up the dotted line at the bottom of the template with the top of the upper counter, did this line up correctly with everything else afterwards? I think mine maybe slightly too high and I will have to re do them. Ben- 149 replies

Very nice work there Jim, I also have the ECHO to build but must finish at least one of my builds before the Admiral will allow me to start another, in the meantime I am getting the nesscary tools to be able to do it justice. I will follow you log with great interest. Ben

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
