  1. Only one original mast top from the 16th century exists, and that's that of the Mary Rose. (Replicas of 16th century ships are not really reliable for information) I solved the problem like this (post 546).
  2. My first idea was also a Panzerbuchse. And it took me a while to figure out what it actually was.
  3. Kettenkrad and 10.5 cm Leichtgeschütz 40 (probably Russia, summer 1942 ) Couldn't resist, sorry 😇
  4. Congrats with your Panther One tank built, many others left to build also?😉
  5. beautiful models.
  6. kit parts replaced by own work That is the modeling microbe That strikes you 😉
  7. Well done for your first wooden ship. Congrats.
  8. I do more WWII modeling then modern . so, no idea if they are correct 😳
  9. Welcome back Nice collection of ship models.
  10. would it be acceptable to have the 251 towing a 7.5 cm anti tank gun? If not what vehicle should I get? This is possible. but it is rare, then you build a Sd.Kfz 251/4. Normally this version was intended to pull a 7.5cm artillery gun. But 7.5 Pak40 is certainly not wrong Becourse the 251 was an expensive vehicle, these were very rare. Which vehicle to tow a PAK40 Normally an Sd.Kfz11 (the unarmed version of the 251) or a Steyr Raufenschleffer Ost (There may be more vehicles i think) As the war progressed: Almost anything heavy enough to tow a PAK 40 Examples: A Steyr 1500 , trucks all types: opel, Ford, Mercedes, etc. Ps, One of the final versions was the 251/22 You never guess .... a Pak 40 mounted on a 251
  11. Good news my friends. A quiet day at work, and already found useful information. We may be start builing the weasel family earlier than planned. http://www.lzmodels.com/135-American-M29C-Weasel.html https://lzmodels.wbs.cz/35503/m29c_instructions.pdf http://www.lzmodels.com/135-American-M29-weasel.html https://lzmodels.wbs.cz/35501/m29_instructions.pdf
  12. Absolutely no idea. It was a stack of magazines I hadn't looked at in 10 years.
  13. Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated. I do most of my research at work when the boss isn't looking, and printing is also for free 👍. I put this on my "to do" list at work 😇, So we can build weasels next winter. Meanwhile, the conversion looks to be ready. As a test, all white parts are painted with a thin layer of green. Looks successful, if I say so myself
  14. Welcome back, Nice work.
  15. Thank you, thank you .Far too much credit for me 👍 I came across another abandoned project. A batch of M29 's. One example in resin (no manufacturer) bought somewhere long ago at an exhibition of IPMS. Stupid me sold the series of magazines ( Vehicule Militaire International) which contained the building descriptions. And did not make copies This will probably be a project for next winter.
  16. Thanks, If the sea is rough enough, he probably won't need toiletpaper 🤣 And a small update, This time of year, I spend more time in our heated kitchen building military models. Then on my unheated hobby room upstairs. Made the channels from the mizzen mast. I found 3 ways to attach the deadeyes : deck, railing, channel. It is important not to make the channels of the mizzen mast too large. I chose the channels. Made an anchor rope. 3 strands of rope, twisted together and treated with diluted PA glue. After a few days of drying I got this result. A 144 mm thick rope was made for the Batavia Replica. That's about 3.2mm to scale, mine is 2.8mm slightly thinner, but my ship was smaller The anchor ropes "disappeared" in these holes (no photos) And, finally, the stairs can be placed. The anchor ropes are out of the way for the time being. Next items to build, work in progress. Thanks for following.
