Good morning Herbert. There exist detailed plans from Harold Underhill about LEON. He even wrote two books about building this model. There are lots of Informations. I suppose, you need the original dimensions? Or of the model 1:48 scale?

Merry Christmas to all of you.
I hope you are enjoying some time with your shipmodels. My wife got me an incredible book about the shipmodels of the musee de la marine in Paris. Looking at the great cabin of the frigate "La Flore" makes me dreaming of finally continuing my Winchelsea!!!
My rigging project made some Progress, but I am running out of blocks, so Winnie will continue soon.

Hi Chuck, will the port lids be equipped with ropes to keep them open?

Hi Matt, thanks for your sympathy! While waiting for some parts, I started the rigging of an 1/75 Model of a frigate. The parts for the next Winchelsea arrived long time ago, but the rigging takes so much time, that I didn't yet continue with the next chapter. Here are some pictures, of where I'm stuck at the moment.
Examples from NMM
Making sails
making the yards and adding the sails
most of the time goes to reading to understand, how the rigging works.

Hi Bob.
A phantastic model. Well done!!! Did you carve the scale figure yourself?

Hi, your model looks beautiful, but what happened to your friezes? They Keep in better condition, of you spray them with varnish, before gluing them in place.

If anyone is interested in using the pictural stern frieze of HMS Winchelsea for his model, feel free to use this pdf-file. Matthias

Well done Reg. Your stern arrangement looks very good! And I like your base. It looks really nice with those brass collumns. Where have you got them from?

Hi Steve, that looks good! Just a little thing: The lower molding at the bow should be longer, so there is no gap to the stem.

The friezes and Fancy moldings on both sides together with the Qgallery-roofs are now finished.
After printing the friezes, I sprayed the paper 2-3 times with varnish, then cut it out and glued it to the model.
Here are some Pictures.
Now I look forward to the stern with all the wonderful carvings from Jack. That will be the absolute higlight of my so far modelbuilding.

Okay thanks for the advice. I will close the Qgallery with tape from the inside, that might help against the dust. I actually just spent more than one hour searching one of the windows wich fell down when I carried the model outside, thats why I spontaniously glued them to the model. I was so happy finding it inside the doormat.

Maybe my profile is just scraped too thin at the lower edge. It was a great moment, adding the first of Jack‘s superb figures to the model.

Are these panels just painted, or actually built with frames and fillings?
