Good morning Sjors, it is good to hear from you. Yes, I shall continue to provide you a photographic tour of my travels. We have driven 3,000 miles since we left home. About 2,300 of those miles is how far we are away from home, with the balance being our touring miles in the areas we have visited. From here we go south to Boston, then to Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Anapolis Maryland, Virginia, and eventually down to Florida. It took us a month to get here in Maine, and will take at least a month or more to reach Florida. Break out the popcorn.....

OK Wayne, sorry I'm too far south to try to meet up with you. We're going south from here. Eating lots of Lobster, and enjoying every minute of it. Thanks for the picture of the two colored lobster. We were talking to people here in the industry and they hadn't heard about it. I knew I saw it a while back so I'm glad I'm not going senile yet! So you must live up in the Cairibu area? I've been to Bar Harbor before, but we decided we didn't want to go that far. I love the Camden, Rockland area, so that's why we're here.....can't find Lobster Pounds though. It's different here. But good Lobster Rolls and typical boiled Lobsters.

Hi Larry, the sails should look real nice. I'll see if I can find more pictures with sails. Internet has been real "iffy" most of the time lately, and it takes about 6-8 minutes to upload 3 pictures which is all I can send at a time provided it doesn't kick me off and I have to start over. Some of the models at the museum had sails, and I'm sure I have some pictures.

Wayne, where are you? I'm actually staying in the KOA in Richmond, Me., south of Augusta.

I'll repeat the process again today especially for you Augie....these guys slept in the same bay hours before I ate it.....these people catch their own lobsters and then cook them for you.... These pictures show the place, Waterman's Lobster Shack, the Bay, Spruce Head Bay, and the boat in the background is what caught them, also some "lobster pots"

I'm now in Camden, Maine. Managed to get there and be at the beginning of the Windjammer Festival. There are 18 Masted Schooners in port. Saw the last one coming in and being moored. Will add pictures. Here are pictures of Thursday's meal of the day, followed by last night's meal of the day. Then some pictures of the ships.

Hello Joe, Yes, we'll be in Mystic sometime next week. I have a friend who is also a guide for the Morgan, who will be showing us around. I have been there twice before, and currently building the MS Morgan which I have with me and have posted a log on this site. Fortunately, I am at a stage where seeing the real thing will really help. I am working on deck structures currently. I see you are in Carlisle, I have hoped to go there for the Mopar Nationals for a few years. I have a Concourse restored 1967 Plymouth GTX. There are some pictures posted on my build site of the Morgan. I haven't made it yet, but someday. I missed last year which would have been the 45 year anniversary.

Hello Joe, today is one of the rare days I have had internet available to me in about a week. I have more pictures and will be posting them shortly. I am traveling up the coast in an RV so my time is very limited for now. It may be a few days before I can post some more. If there is any particular areas you have concerns with let me know and I'll try to post them first. I'm currently in Maine, and will be going to Boston next week to see the Constitution and meet with Popeye2sea (Henry) for a guided tour of the ship. I'm really looking forward to this, then off to Mystic, Connecticut to see the Morgan.

Hi Verne, just found your log and will be following your build. I recently finished this build myself, but most of the work was done prior to finding this forum. Looks great so far. John

Hello Sjors, for me reading these passages helps our healing, Isaiah 53:4-5;, and Mathew 8:16. I hope this helps you. Believe. And also some pictures for you of Lake George, New York. We are here today, and I thought you would like to see the boat we will go on tomorrow.....the Minnie Ha Ha, which is an American Indian phrase and name. This lake has 1,000 islands and is beautiful, it is in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. Take care my friend, and get well. We shall be praying for your quick recovery. The last picture is for when you get well.....Ben & Jerry Ice Cream Banana Split with New York Super Chocolat Fudge, Butter Pecan and Strawberry Ice Cream, whipped cream and chocolat fudge. I am sorry you cannot get this to enjoy in The Netherlands, but perhaps if you visit the US someday you can enjoy one of life's great perks. John

Hello my friend, I go away for a week or two and look what happens.....the whole place falls apart, everyone down. I hope no one ate any of the shipboard food hoping to get well. I am sad to hear you are sick, but happy to hear that you are getting better. I'll try to send you some pictures of New York to cheer you up. Get well.... John

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
