  1. By the way, still haven't heard from Henry. I called today, but only got voicemail....did you have any problems with contacting him...I've done emails and now phone calls. Hopefully I'll hear from him tomorrow, I'll be in Boston area tomorrow evening for 3-4 days.
  2. Hi Larry, after all my review of the subject, I am wondering if anyone has seen a model of the HMS Queen Charlotte, the ship that Perry defeated in the Battle of Lake Erie? It culd be interesting to show the two together, or even a diorama????? Open to suggestions from the forum???? sorry to hijack your log if that is what happens. Unfortunately, I have been know to do that...lol.
  3. Since I am building MS's CW Morgan, I intend to use your little boat as a guide for building my 7 that I need for the ship. thanks for the inspiration
  4. Ferit, very nice build. I have been to Istanbul, and really enjoyed the city....it is dynamic, and one of my favorite cities in the world.
  5. very nice looking build. These are really sleek looking boats, and an excellent example of the style
  6. Floyd, very nice build. Traveling the east coast I am beginning to appreciate the importance of these types of ships....very nice indeed
  7. Hi Lawrence, thanks for the info. I have been to Boston 4 times now, and The Constitution 3 times. Going back this time, and hope Henry will be available for a private tour. I like Boston and the area a lot also. Welcome aboard and hopefully soon I'll be doing some ship building.
  8. Hi Patrick, you're welcome for the pictures. sorry to hear about the rerigging episode....mistakes can really eat on you, even though 98% of whoever looks at it wouldn't know the difference....we still do. Someone recently posted to remember the Captain is always right, and if the Captain ain't happy then no one is, so ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Good luck with it and I'm sure somewhere I'll have questions where your pictures of the real thing will be required.
  9. Looking very good Andy. glad you liked my Swamp Donkey! Poor Augie, makes ya wonder how ever gets anything done....
  10. Hi David.....I am so envious. I was in Erie last week and had to leave. We couldn't stay around for the re-enactment (found out too late). I think the ship had just left Green Bay to come to Erie for the event. Congrats on being part of the crew. I'll be following your log closely as this is my next build. I'm on my way to Boston to see the Constitution, then to Mystic to see the CW Morgana again. I have been on board each twice before, but now building the Morgan and just finished the Conny, so I'm looking forward to the tours. Great build on your model, thanks for all the pictures and hope to see more.
  11. You are welcome Sjors.....many more to come. I'm seeing some sunshine right now, but might change tonight.
  12. Hi Lawrence, yes getting damp, but I'll only be here another day, then down to Boston. Looks like snow in northern Ontario. Not ready for that though. We are really enjoying the cooler weather. It was 106 F yesterday at home. One thing nice about the east coast is lot's of sailing ships to see. Thanks for following along....trying to provide our European and Aussie friends with some views of our beautiful landscapes here.
