marvelous result, RGL. As already stated in other words: Practice makes perfect. You are getting there. I like the details on her. You've chosen a good kit with the amount of detailup available. Camouflage turned out very well too.

Vendetta is Australian right ... so you've got 2 more AU & 2 more UK to go ... France has some nice ships, so does Italy ... plenty to go so it seems
-
looks the part, mate. Although, you could do with some AA guns ... painting turned out real good ... not to much not to little. How did you make the netting, part of the detailup set?
-
Yves, you could have used brass sheet/strips which should give more strength, and even more peace of mind

Hope your hand is fully healed, those are often bothersome injuries. Look forward to the updates

Thanks Jo. Sorry to hear about your father, my belated condolences. You should build the Blower. Lovely car, although, I am biased, I love British racing cars, and two seaters. You should have a look at the tutorials from this bloke you might find some interesting information for plastic car builds

You don't have much left for structure on that deck. Wouldn't fixing the brass restore some/most of it's strength so you can continue more easily?

Hello Jo, Thanks, it seems you pop up all over the place Actually not holding back, my back is holding me from it. A few more weeks of manual torture, and straining excercises, and I will be good to go. Good to have you join in the fun of screwed eyes and headaches ... You should have a go at one of these plastic & PE things sometime. All sorts of new tools you can buy

I like those depthcharge throwers next to Y-turret, got a few of those (3D printed) for the RCN destroyer. She is turning out rather well, mate. The oilcanning looks very good too. Don't forget to eat now you're home alone

Thanks for your interest Jo. Indeed, there are so many "addons" in brass, metal, resin, etc which gives this type of model building a whole new dimension, besides the developments in painting, and weathering ... it isn't just plastic anymore, a whole new ball game It has been a long time ... it will revive, the log, I just need a pair of macro eyes screwed in my head with all the tiny stuff which is still to be done, and replacement parts for my lower back, but it will happen

That, my friend, is very nifty indeed. I would never have thought of such a simple, and yet effective method. Well done!

Home alone ... don't make a mess of it, at least you can get something done, if work doesn't interfere. I really have to get used to your seasons, they make ours seem off track, or ours are(!)

Quite a collection of deck furniture. You can make it liveable, finally. Thought you were a bit silent, but you must have been sulking in your corner 'cause of the bofors ... glad there are replacement parts for those "at hand". Did you lacquer the hull prior to putting the decals on? I found it was easier to position the decals. Afterwards spray with clear mat, which gave a better sheen to the ship than the plain paint (whichever brand)

Sorry to hear about the honeymoon, expect they did at least gave a partial refund ... After ten years we might have expected some prowes, so a mere 2 tries sounds about acceptable, if not extreme. Glad your vision didn't come true, and you finished tying up the hook, even ifit is not exactly to your wishes.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
