  1. And I have more problems the smaller it gets ... Moving along nicely Mark. One advantage of BIG tweezers ... you can squeze Sam when he is nagging you
  2. oilcanning came through nicely, didn't loose a bit. Camouflage ain't half bad either
  3. Auch ... didn't you read up on the "Howto work with power tools" topic? Lucky it grew back on and you do not have a split personality ... afterwards.
  4. Een dubbeltje op z'n kant (narrow escape - a dime on it's side) Hope those aren't milk teeth, and those work
  5. I'm afaraid the strech line like EZ line will pose the same problems you have with the other rigging. I would personally go for the streched sprue, eventhough it is more work, you won't have the tensioning prblems. On my plastic builds I use EZ-line, but my masts are from brass, so I don't need to take the flexibility from those into account
  6. Do you use masking tape or e.g. carboard to get the sharp line for the oilcanning effect? Shouldn't you have the light side from the effect at the bottom of the hollow and the dark side at the top. I know I am a pain right know. It looks like the light comes from right under. It looks very real, as if you can touch the hollow
  7. maybe we should tip-toe on and not disturb the master, so his vains do not clog up from the stress we cause Fortunately those will be de-clogged within 350 years
  8. Now you can still decide to keep the covers off or on. Besides you do not need to fix the covers shut. As Mark wrote it all helps stiffening the frame. This would look even flimsier ...
  9. Very nice result on that scale. Your pumps turned out very well
  10. maybe take your foot out of your mouth, before you start kicking your shoes off
  11. You might as well wait the week for the steering wheel. Postage will probably more expensive than the part itself. Nice build though. There is an RC version being built on the forum
  12. Looks rather dark the horizontal plane ... I am really curious to the oilcanning, can you show the steps?
  13. because you can, and you like the challenge. So get your $%^&*!@# hiney back at that table and fix it!!! You are doing so well, and sometimes you just need to take a step back, recuperate and pick up where you left off
  14. But wouldn't you run the risk of making markings on the wood with the exacto blade, which you cannot see with Amalio's method ...
  15. No, my father did, he spent a year in Italy, mostly in Firenze, so it is still on the "wanted" list
  16. Thanks Keith, that is most kind of you!
  17. Than you have some nice wood waiting for you. I have actually no wood at all presently, and after my next plastic build I will have a go at a Ventian Gondola for which I have the drawings from Gilberto Penzo. I do not yet know what wood will be appropriate. Still lots of time before I start
  18. ... smoke room, they used to smoke their pipes as I recall from "Het fregatschip Johanna Maria" ... maybe ... the "wooden fregat shoe" would be an applicable ship type for your build
  19. Beautiful. Even if you have a limited choice of wood, the waltnut does look very nice. Interesting, the insert in the masthead
