  1. maybe take your foot out of your mouth, before you start kicking your shoes off
  2. If not, than the shoe must be on the other foot.
  3. You might as well wait the week for the steering wheel. Postage will probably more expensive than the part itself. Nice build though. There is an RC version being built on the forum
  4. Looks rather dark the horizontal plane ... I am really curious to the oilcanning, can you show the steps?
  5. because you can, and you like the challenge. So get your $%^&*!@# hiney back at that table and fix it!!! You are doing so well, and sometimes you just need to take a step back, recuperate and pick up where you left off
  6. But wouldn't you run the risk of making markings on the wood with the exacto blade, which you cannot see with Amalio's method ...
  7. No, my father did, he spent a year in Italy, mostly in Firenze, so it is still on the "wanted" list
  8. Thanks Keith, that is most kind of you!
  9. Than you have some nice wood waiting for you. I have actually no wood at all presently, and after my next plastic build I will have a go at a Ventian Gondola for which I have the drawings from Gilberto Penzo. I do not yet know what wood will be appropriate. Still lots of time before I start
  10. ... smoke room, they used to smoke their pipes as I recall from "Het fregatschip Johanna Maria" ... maybe ... the "wooden fregat shoe" would be an applicable ship type for your build
  11. Beautiful. Even if you have a limited choice of wood, the waltnut does look very nice. Interesting, the insert in the masthead
  12. Dick, The rudder looks marvelous. I can't make chocolate from that picture (a Dutch expression when you do not know how to do something), so I presume you have a better image, or a far better eye than I have.
  13. Hmmm, I would expect a straight jacket to keep you at the house. So how is the planking moving on?
  14. Gotta make a choice between tools and kits ... or should I say detailup sets
  15. That's some watchmake level work Pat. Interesting contraption your Dremel is hanging in
  16. Yves, Normally one would take a metal or wooden rod (I've got an aluminum set for that) and roll those access plates on a cutting mat or press them in a matching form. I never use a hard surface, as it can (and most probably will) make your parts get a life off their own and go searching for the carpet monster. After shaping glue them on. I usually take a size smaller rod than de required size. You need to take into account that attaching them on, and then rolling the cigar may: damage the cigar itself have the plates jump all over your workspace/place if used with considerable CA won't bend the plates tool I use for it Those added details, do make them look a lot better ...
  17. What are you saying!? You need a psychiatrist after your son with your grandson have been down at your place for two weeks?
  18. What's a day's drive ... Less than I used to drive to my parents (Bergerac)
  19. Fabio, come sta? It has been silent in your shipyard for a while
  20. what a sin "fruits de mer" on a barbie ... might be a nice trip Apeldoorn, Bretagne, Dordogne, will have to look into that
  21. Beer ????? "Au de vie" sounds better The "fine bretagne" sounds interesting though ...
  22. Oi, I be summat stunn'd ... a pie-rate must plundr royalty bargees, an sink 'em after. Whot arst thou spenning good coin on buildin' such a one. You cannee sail the seven seas wi' it. I be all in irons as you maketh her a shiny piece (time to make scarce and hit the cot)
