It seems Grandad is doing fine, even with the minor set backs he has now and again

Some of your photographs look like M.C. Escher drawings ... so complex -
Superglue won't hold Steven. You can take it apart again without to much force. Dick is right, you need a glue which fuses the polycarbonate. Not certain if MEK works, but there are a few glues which are specially used for this material

Well done so far. Your airbrushing looks very good. Put her on either a styrofoam or towel from now on, any hard surface will damage the bottom and you will have to repaint. Besides a towel gives you the advantage to slant her when working on her. Looking good mate

Superbe, a very beautiful build Yves magnefique, you can't hide anymore your prowess in plastic builds, not with this result

What's left for me to say, than: Outstanding work, Steven. I did not expect such a fast finish. You took me by surprise this time, well most of the times anyway. I am curious as to what you next build will be. Hat of to you!

You've gone quite a ways, Steven. Your helmsmen look good, and have the fitting and typical "Steven Dromond's Hair cut"
-
I would suggest something lower like th e pavesade you mention. You actually only need a fixed point around which the cable can be directed in a (more or less) straight line to you windgirl. I stopped driving blunt nails into my brain when I found out I didn't have one

A wee bit late in the conversation but couldn't a block and tackle have been used on the anchor in combination with the windlass?
-
That, mate, is quite a pitty as all your ships are well worth to be seen!

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
