  4. Hi Mick, This is what I do all the time. The little boat is now planked and I have to place a rubbing strake. I will do that first and then paint the whole thing ( or dingy )
  5. Hi Mick, You ask some advise…... Here is mine When you paint it first and then put them on, you have the change that your paint is going away by the glue. So, first place the rubbing strakes, then use tape and paint it. You can do that before you finish above and under the hull or do it first and then you have the change that you do a little fiddly work when the hull is finished. That's up to you. And use tamya tape, you have different sizes in that.
  6. Hi Mick, I just take a look at the video! It gives me chicken skin ( if that the right line ) Amazing build and even more a very terrific video! Thanks for sharing.
  7. Hi Wim. I know what you mean….. I have the same problem To hot to do some modelling in the day time. In the early hours I can do something and then it is over. And next week it's gonna be higher…. Maybe in Oktober we can go back to the build.
  8. Hi Mick, I used the French blue on the San Ildefonso and the dull black. There both beautiful colours. I just love the admiralty paint. The cherry color I don't know but I gonna take a look at the link you gave us. I have take a look but I only see a bottle…... After the experience I have with the paint, I think you make a good choice to use it. And thanks for the explanation about the bow. I'll wait to see what you are doing with it.
  9. Augie, Almost at the finish line……. Anchors are looking great ! I'll be waiting for all the pictures when she is finished.!
  10. Hi Mick, You give us ( Adriaan and myself ) a nice answer…... If I understand it correctly, you place the balsa blocks into the bow, shape it and then you put the second planking over it? I have the same thing with my Smit Rotterdam but in have to plank it also with the first planking. It's the same what we are doing with almost all the builds. Just put balsa blocks at the stern and bow to make the planking easier. But if your manual are saying that you have to do it this way, oke then...
  11. Adriaan, That's a new type of ship….. A open bow Or he runs out of plankery planks….. Or there is a false note in the melody.
  12. Ok, here am I…... I see pics I want to see more pics! Where are the promise pics about that serving machine !!!!! BTW ,nice job on the bowsprit rope with a lovely seizing ( or seizing ) Lanyards between the heart blocks looks nice. Stays are looking perfect. So, Now I have say all that……..SYREN??????????

  14. Hi Adriaan, I just doing the same as you. Only reading and no building. The only thing is that the temperature is to high to work upstairs. When I come home from work I want to try to do some things but after 5 minutes there are coming water all over me. And no, It was not Anja with a water gun…... Take care of your leg and happy reading….. I shall not yell about the CF !
  15. I'm singing ! I'm happy that only Anja can hear that Otherwise MSW members where running away…... How much gears do you have? When I'm counting the speed up that you are doing I'am now at gear 6……. Keep on going with the plankety plank !
  16. Hi john, It looks now if your model is found in a coal mine A few more layers and it will be ok.
  17. Great job Adam, Maybe you did it or your camera has not a macro but when you want a close picture, use books where you can put on your camera and then the macro on and snap……picture ! Try a few pictures from a different distance and see what's the best.
