It is interesting to see how you accomplish the production of the wax masters Alex, The small boats look extremely well made and appear to be made of wood. Working professionally it is always great when you can trust another colleague to prepare work that meets your expectations, it relieves the pressure to do what most interests yourself.

I am happy to be retired and not have to deal with this issue any more.

Let me introduce to you the master who makes boats for me. In the photo the master with his "little boy" Le Francois. I can trust this master ... Now it's obvious.
The name of the master is Yuri Gaidar.

Thank you. However, this ship is a "very dark horse" ... There are many photographs and drawings, but the documentation is very different in content. It is extremely difficult to recreate the historical image. This is not surprising. Throughout life, the ship was rebuilt many times. And in the Bolshevik period of existence, the ship changed beyond recognition. The ship was turned into a minesweeper. It's sad. The magnificent yacht was disfigured.

Hi Alex,

never mind the changes in the different periods, if you`ll get the bridge structure done in the way you show in your rendering that would be super....

I was, indeed, wondering, what happened to the project ...

Why are there two different types of rudder ?

Two different types of rudder are the fruits of endless disputes (and how it was in fact ...). That to me did not stir I completely stopped publications on the Russian-speaking forum. In fact, very much has been done. All these are parts which, after manufacturing, are laid out in boxes (mostly milling and casting). And all these details will be visible in the process of installation on ship hulls. In addition, the project is moving slowly. I'm not healthy and hard to work with.

Nice work again ! I am a bit confused about the rudder: it shows the rivetting with which normally the plates covering the wooden infill would be fixed to the cast or forged frame. How will be the frame filled in ?

And the wood will not be covered in Muntz metal ? I don't know, if STANDART ever ventured out of the Baltic Sea, but if so, there would have been a risk of attack by terredo navalis on the rudder blade ...

This scheme of manufacturing the helm of the helm was on a very large number of ships, this is not a novelty. This system of manufacture is good so that the steering wheel was light and relatively cheap. With such feathers of the helm, ocean ships also sailed.
