Almost ready for paint. I just have to install some ladder rungs.

Out come my harbor freight drill bits.

lets see if I can do this without braking many bits this time

IMG_1509.thumb.JPG.0662c61a55214d704c7811f4deee83a2.JPG

success!

I painted all of the main big pieces.

Next I will paint some darker grey areas, life rafts white, all deck fittings and stairs, do alot of shading, install the decks, assemble everything and gently place it onto the Bismarck. See everyone soon!

Yes they do Popeye.  But mine are all broken because im a clutz.

Try fitting them into a Pinvise and see if you have more success. I find it gives me more stability than turning the drill by hand.

The part to be drilled should be firmly supported so it can't slip and snap the drill.

Thanks Cog, I feel like its impossible to get them perfectly straight. Notice how that photo is dark? That by design to hide how bad it really is. :default_wallbash:

She must have had a severe bomb blast near the rungs ;):)

So am I. That's why I buy multiple sets from a single size, instead of various sizes. I use 0.3 mm most

I was in there a few weeks ago......I didn't see them,  but I did find a drill index {an assortment actually} that goes from 3 mm,  down to the micro sizes.   I have a couple pin vises...even a couple that spin when you pull a collar down.   the ones you have look like they would work well in a press...... :)

Not much progress tonite. I only had about 2 hours so I figured I could airbrush the life rafts. 3 drops of thinner and 6 drops of flat white is all it took.

I can hopefully paint dark grey areas tommorow atleast...Masking with tape takes me a while.  It just gonna be wierd  with timing. I got to go to work at 11am till about 1pm.  Being right in the middle of the day like that really messes up my day. Even if it's only 2 hours.

I couldnt get much done after work today.

I painted the dark grey areas by hand with a brush. It definetly does not come out as good as airbrushing but it's one 3 small areas.

IMG_1522.thumb.JPG.5c4713ffb4c19d71c2efe66b33d335b4.JPG

then I still had time so I started to prep all of the deck fittings for paint tomorrow.

I hope to airbrush all thats left tomorrow and also start shading.
