Just started on the Bounty with my slip...

Trying to find the best way to set up for the laying of the bulkheads (shown dry fitting).

I haven't gotten the level and square out... but I will just to confirm that it is true, level and square.

Sure looks like it.

You'll notice the strips under the keel... my bulkheads run right to the bottom of the false keel... I think it will hold fine with the clamps... we'll see.

So far, I like it but need to learn how to use it!

Why not make your own?  In my opinion, the markings on the vertical support and base are too broad and too far apart to give more than "eyeball" accuracy anyway.

I have found it very useful, but recommend some modification and additions. The parallel keel holder obscures a breadthplan   that often needs fixing to board, and makes use of alignment tools difficult. I made 3 rectangular blanks from the excess mdf.

The markings are broad, but these are easily supplemented. There could be vertical lines -especially midlines- on the upright squaring board but a plan or grid is easily attached.

The squaring board cannot approach stem or stern if their holders are in place. I made an additional board with feet outside the main horizontal board itself.

Overall it is very useful and flexible , and removes need to construct a new building board with each model.

The price is fair and quality of finish good

I have sent an email to HobbyZone in the USA and they don't know when or if the slip will be back on the market.
They are not getting replies from Poland themselves. Which is weird.

I would like to get one slip myself.

Yeah that dosn,t sound good does it. I assume the Hobbyzone in the USA is supply only or do they just don,t make the slipway we want.

Wonder if we could get the plans to make one ourselves?

Although the entire unit might be a bit difficult to build without proper equipment, the base would be easy enough.

Have you thought about building one yourself?

I'm sure those of us that have one could supply pictures and measurements.

Lyle, I have a 3d printer, shouldn't be to hard to re-create such for personal use, based on pictures and measurements.
Not a bad idea!

HobbyZone in Poland are still showing unavailable for this product.

I'm not familiar with a 3d printer but the smaller pieces should be doable with it.

I wouldn't want to infringe on any copyrights... let me know if I can help.

Update   I have just received an email from Hobby zone. The re was two answers to my question. All orders to the uk are currently suspended due to the Brexit transition period ( As far as I know.this finished on the 31st December). Two they are currently not sending any orders for the professional slipway anywhere but they are working on it.Please check retail shops for updates. This does sound a bit more promising . However this looks like I might have to make one or at least come up with something similar. Perhaps some of you more experienced guys can come up with some ideas as we could be waiting on Hobbyzone for some time, especially here in the UK. Thanks guys for all your suggestions it is much appreciated.

Dave, you might have to come up with something yourself. According to Hobbyzone website in Poland it's still not available. And they will direct ship to the USA. Their website has gotten new products during the past 9 months or more. I see two scenarios: 1- There's a new version coming out, which would be great. 2 - It will be discontinued, which would be sad.

Brexit  has just made it harder to export and import only to England, it's not affecting other countries to my knowledge.

I want to share my super experience with Hobbyzone Poland.

Little more than month ago i wrote to Hobbyzone Poland and asked about professional build slip and when it would be available. They said that they are working on it but if after a month its still not available i should write them again and they  will organize it for me.

I told them that i will, even offered to gather up people to make bigger order - they kindly refused and said it special for me.

So month passed, slip still not available and i sent them email. Same day i got response that “promise is a promise “ and asked my details to organize everything. 4 days later i got my slip with even handwritten note in estonian (yes from Poland) saying “thank you Vahur and Happy modelling”.

Thats great and well done for sticking with it. So writing to them looks to be the only way forward in the short term. I have only just started the hobby and have bought many items including a serving machine ( which is brilliant by the way) So up to now I have bought more than twice what it anitially cost for my model ship. So I am in two minds whether to go for this as I have a limted budget and could really do with a pedalstal drill too. Hopefullly I will be needing a new model ship soon and that slipway will definately be handy. Best regards Dave

I ordered mine from Minyarts in Germany about four weeks ago (still at Frankfurt airport waiting for a flight down under). As of five minutes ago they have them in stock for 79Euro thingies.

All

this building jig is now available and I ordered one recently which arrived two days ago, I ordered from Hobbies.co.uk but I know at least one Scandinavian dealer has them in stock as well, but they no longer ship to the UK. Certainly, for European readers, now is the time to order before they all go again. By the way, I have been waiting for most of this year to get hold of this

I've had one of these for a while..well worth all the fuss of you trying to obtain one..don't give up! My Vangaurd build was so much more manageable in the rig. Especially after doing the hull (which was super straight).being able to swing it 360deg for copper plating.
