Working on deck planking. Some of the joinery took lots of trys but making progress. No hurry but I'll be glad when the planking is done

Haven't made much progress on the model. I stumbled on 2 of these mills. One is CNC and I'm converting this one to a manual mill.

Starting on hair brackets tonight. Getting laser char off of such small parts is quite a challenge. A before and after shot

Chuck, I have a question. I don't plan on adding cannon as I see a lot of contemporary models don't. My question is should I still add the eye volts and rings? I'm not trying to avoid it, I'm just wanting your opinion.

Yes you should still add them.  I had thought about that as well.  But it would be appropriate to add them even without cannons.

Thanks for the quick reply Chuck. I agree, just wanted guidance. You've studied contemporary models more than I ever will. And thanks RockinBudgie. This project has been a real test of my talent but I feel like it has vastly improved my building skills and boosted my confidence to try more complex models. Chuck has designed the perfect project to help people develop the skills they need to step into scratch or semi scratch. I feel like I know now what it takes to do some serious kit bashing and make some of the available kits into something better. I dont think I could build a model straight from the box now.

Moving my way foreword with deck beams and stanchions. I strayed from Chucks plan on the stair railings. I decided to use some 1mm brass rod and glued the 1/32 hand rail on top.
