I saw this kit at my local Hobby Town and knew for sure I wanted one, but thought maybe I should shop online for a review and a better price as the LHS was asking $105.99 for their copy.
after finding a review and liking it, lucked out to find the kit on sale at Spruebrothers, much more to my liking. I ended up ordering a photo etch update for the turret armor with a 3D printed muzzle brake, and a full set of crew figures as well.

Brother,

I'm down/in for this one....

But a point.... Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf. G/H means Ausfuhrung G/H... Or, (in English) Armored War Vehicle IV Model G/H...

I know nit picking...... Sorry Brother....

I was just thinking you might want to adjust the title.....

😅

I didn't even realize it until you wrote this. Spell checker changed my title to "Australian". When it's good, it's good. When it's bad, it's bad. Happens on my cell phone all the time but guess I better pay attention to spell checker here, too.

I figured it must have been something like that....

I probably should have sent you a private note, but for some reason the PN system failed to open up for me right at that point...

I apologize.

I tried the game when it first came out, but never gained a solid interest in it.

I'll never forget how my oldest grandson taught me a lesson or two playing Call of Duty. He would find and shoot me quicker than I could say, jack rabbit.

Same here, won a few, lost many..... For me it was too unrealistic.... But then again most capture the flag games don't do a lot for my interests.... (way too boring) Also I'm not into kill until your killed type stuff.... There has to be a clear path to a clear win no matter how difficult it is to get there....

Yes, it's full indeed. The weight of the box caught my interest right away at the hobby shop as it seemed to indicate a well detailed model inside, as most Ryefield kits are well appointed. I'll need to be thinking of ways I can display the fighting compartment and all the other inner components, not cover it all up. Battle damaged maybe?

Interesting   - guess if  you wanted to go down a  "Display the inside"   set up   - wonder if you could  fabricate a  see through side, trouble is  that would take away its  real life look.

All that interior detail in yours is Gorgeous   - same situation as my Chally  so much locked away inside not to be seen.

Hah - I hear you.

In my past life, I was the original lead level designer for a game from Valve Software called Day of Defeat, which is a WW2 era shooter.  I like the era and the whole idea of historical simulation, so that keeps me going.  That and at 60+ I'm still able to keep my win average above 50% ;)

A cut-a-way is the best way, battle destroyed, (turret blown off) can be done very nicely as well but a lot of the detail will still be hidden... A maintenance scene like an engine swap is another...

Then there is always do two, a cutaway to display the insides and a normal one for the outside.... Tanks are a toughie for displaying the inside work.....

Egilman is onto something here that might work.    Get another one. Leave off or cut away the top of hull on the second one.  Or... battle damage.   Catch is, in most cases the worst appearance was the turret blow off, sometimes sitting at an odd angle or off the the side.

Hmmm.... more brain storming... don't glue the top hull to the lower.  Make it removable.

I have a few different ideas, but haven't settled in on one yet.

It begs for some type of heavy maintenance scene or similar display.

Gun lifts and Turret lifts are always nice, you don't see too many of them and the images are mostly Panther turrets with a few Tiger's thrown in.... Engine lifts are good as well but they generally didn't use a Strabo for an engine lift.... There was one shot I saw a decade or so ago where a strabo was lifting the whole front end of a Pz. III but for the life of me I can't find it again...

I know it's scale modeler heresy, but I seldom hunt for photos, not much more than a cursory search most of the time.

how to disassemble panzer III

That's the thing that made it stand out for me, a Pz III could be easily disassembled with a simple derrick or boom truck, it didn't need a Strabo Crane to do any lifts.... I wish I had captured it.... It was easily repairable in the field with common hand tools.... I can't conceive why they would be lifting one end of it...
