Well got the port side planked. Not bad, but still not right.  Close,  every side I do  it start to make sense A little to much glue shows through I will try to hide it before the finish coat goes on later. Just a little more sanding and putty and the planking done ,on to the deck maybe rudder builder's choice  🤔 lol

Hello,  I have painted the keel and I used putty for the tree nails, looks good ,I have no ideal how the putty will stand the test of time but it should stay like this for quite some time. Going to start my fences now, it's so much fun in the shipyard  lol

coming on very nicely, what wood glue are you using, as it could be wiped away before it dries

I told my first mate what you said Kevin ,still no no but down to two nos lol. I use weld bond glue, for me it sticks and it cleans up nice, what happened is I have sanded a bit to much in places ,I can fix that  . I had trouble cutting the transverse but have a plan to hide

that mistake.  The fence I will have to make  my own way the book shows one way ,the plan show another  the pictures  on the box shows another.  And I ran out of wood lol. Did some more work on mast, crows nest , now the fence , later my friend's

You got to love this hobby!!! I am having so  much fun building this ship. Things seem to fit together well  taking my time and using the miter box,  for straighter cuts. Learning how to use my computer better  but still respond to post that are years old lol, some of those logs are so impressive. Well a few pictures of where I stand know.

I like the way the bow looks and the fences  and the crowsnest turned out well too. Ok later, but thanks for everyone's help and patience with me. Still have so much to learn. Lol 😆

Well just when you think all is well ha ha. I Sliped when I drilled for the front mast.Had to take some decking out then blacken the edges  glue down and re stain. I  will scrape it again one more time for a better match . I will surly put a rope coil over it lol. Nothing really glued in have to drill all the holes for the RIGGING  lol the Pinta is coming along nicely but I used shellac sealer for the finish coat  I think it to shinny. We been though a lot this Pinta and me we come along way. It's fun this hobby, the call of the Mayflower is strong lol even brought it down to the shipyard.Its on the self lol. So this is were I am now the fun stuff the extras that make it shine  

 Well  time to break out the thread,   deadeyes ,rat lines,rigging , oh my lol

So I re scraped the deck and stained it again. Then I got side tracked  with a paint spray booth. Because I have to paint  the Mayflower  Lol, But not done the Pinta  yet.

Hello, I made the rudder, but the kit never came  with small nails,so I got the closest thing to it when finished I found nails from the Santa Maria  that were left over ,plus three  rings for the canons.

I had trouble with the Trozze, in English it's cheese ball 😳, I had a peice left from the SM, so I made two  more then dump all the kit on the floor shees. Found most of it lol.  I got my first dead eye done 13 left to do

You can't see were I messed up the deck,woo hoo. Now its time for all the standing rigging, then the sails which will be done after Christmas  because I  order some Gac 400 ,to save on shipping my buddy is bringing me some at Christmas. So if I finish what shall I do lol 😆

Ahoy,  I made two  dead eyes and attached them ,seizing needs works but coming along.  I have 5 left to do on the practice  side . Made a guide to follow so they are all the same size works, ok for me. I have broke out the blue rigging  box, will post when finished the standing rigging  

 Till then ,Thanks for all the likes and advise. As a newbie it helps to know I can find anything about model ships right here. So glad you guys let me stay lol!!

Well today I went to the old barn and found some mohogany from an old room divider we had.  There is about 4 pieces  that are 1x6 and 10 feet long, 4 eight footers and some others. I reached in, grabbed one and cut it to the length I wanted.  Then sanded them roughly and put two away for the Nina and Mayflower. 

   Then I picked one and finished it, it's a bit light in color  but It Will Do  . Then mounted it to the Pinta and hung it up to dry. Now that's done back to rigging lol  . 

  Having so much fun,  learning lots  Frist time I ever used a router....not bad lol. Well that's it, talk soon I am sure Lol

Ahoy, continuing with the rigging seizing.  It started off pretty rocky but found a log of the Sphinx that showed a different way to do it. It seemed easier for me so I did it that way ,I think it turned out ok for my first attempt.  I measured a couple of times, the glued them . After I made all twelve shrouds and attached them, I went on to make the sails.
