Arthur -they are different materials - as i was experimenting with what looked best - the brass at the back looks ( to me anyway over scale) so i will use the thin wire at the from - the wire itself came from the tie wraps that you use in the garden - intentions are to paint them black and they are not tapered, lol im not that clever

]Good evening everyone - briiliant day, but as i have friends who are Australian i will not mention the test match

spent most of the day experimenting - on fitting blocks and doing strops - so although not much progress done - it is getting me into a routine of procedures

did some rigging today,

today feeding lines from the knight-head through single blocks to the dolphin striker, not much achieved but enjoyable

the spiritsail lower yard is temporary pinned to ensure i don't do anything stupid in the months ahead

getting a little confused though how the spirit top saill is going to be fitted, imo the cloth would be snagged by the lines passing through the dolphin striker towards the top of the Jib

anyway - i am sure i will find an answer

Hello Kevin..

Your patience is definitely paying off.  Looks to me like you're going to have a beauty on your hands in a little while.  It's something special to see your photos as they are informative, clear and very sharp.  It's a pleasure to see good work as yours.

Best,

Jerry

Kevin I am wondering, did you ever look into a sail set for this? I've had a look but can't find any at the correct scale so thought perhaps as you've been working on yours for longer you may have looked into it already?

Is it worth me looking or is there no options at this scale ?

Dominic - I will be making my own - once I source the correct material , whether that be silk, calico or Egyptian cotton the plans i will take out of my books

I have not managed to fine a pre made sail set of the build - and i doubt they would include the stuns anyway, 37 I need in total

Good evening everyone

today was perhaps the best spent three hours i have ever had on this build, thoroughly enjoyed it, i can confirm lol that me mojo is here to stay

Foremast Standing rigging

1st two lines sets os lines to be placed are spliced and run down the port and stbd sides - these do not form ports of the shrouds

post-846-0-94072800-1437769284_thumb.jpg

I have found the mast to work on easier away from the build

post-846-0-07817200-1437769282_thumb.jpg

the next ten lines to be placed form two shrouds each, each pair goes to the same side, and the one above it then goes to the  alternative side
