NMBROOK Posted February 15, 2014 Share #491 Posted February 15, 2014 Fabulous work Doris It looks like you are working to the Anatomy of the ship book,same as me.There is a mistake on the drawings as to how the bowsprit is anchored.In the side view it is shown going to a wooden plate that fits between the legs on the foredeck bitts,as the gussets of the anchor bitts falls short.In Plan it shows the gussets much longer on the anchor bitts and the wooden bowsprit support plate fits between these.I just wondered how you went about this as I don't think you have posted a photo before the foredeck went on.I apologise in advance if you read this with google translater as I should imagine this will make little sense. Nigel: I am not sure, but maybe you mean this place: I've made the necessary adjustment on the bow - there was added another bulkhead under the foredeck ( it is not drawn in plans and other parts also have been changed and modified) to achieve better durability and solidity of the hull - the model is mainly made of card and needs larger reinforcement. It is possible to purchase it here: http://www.radekshipmodels.cz/en/list-of-kits-and-accessories/accessories---sails_-flag_-cloth-for-sails I prepared the patterns of flags and because I have no laser printer at home, I asked for help my friend and he printed the flags for me. It is also possible to order accurate flags for your models in the link above. I improved the flags using Tamiya spray - semi gloss clear TS-79 and bright red TS-49 to highlight red colour and impregnate the cloth. During drying I shaped the flag into its current form. Is it possible to cast the guns using the cast metal one as a master ? Using blended paper and clay with PVA glue. Have seen this done a long time ago but cannot find where on the net.
