Pandora by marsalv - 1:52

I decided to start work on another model (work on Royal Caroline have reached the stage where it can be easily done at home in the autumn and winter months). The choice fell on Pandora.
It is my first real scratch build (POB) according to plans from the book Anatomy of the Ship.

The first phase of construction was making a plan of the bulkheads and the keel using TurboCad.

The bulkheads and the inner the keel is made of plywood, the outer part of the keel will be made of pear wood. Thanks to the large number of bulkheads (26 pcs) and small gaps between will be done only one planking.

Hi Marsalv.

You have made a excellent start on the Pandora.

Using TurboCad has done wonders for the designing of your ship.

Your bulkheads are looking spot on stacked like that. .

I will be pulling up my chair and iPad and following you along with this build.

All the best.

Regards Antony.

Hello Marsalv!

With all those bulkheads glued to the false keel and the excellent keel and stem looks like a "mix" between POB and POF way of construction!!

Excellent clean and neat work! Keep going!

Daniel.

Hi Marslav

Looks great! Pandora has one of the most beautiful looking hulls of any ship of her time (in my opinion); complete with beautiful, gracefull hull lines and a sweet profile. I've also built a miniature dockyard model of Pandora (see photos in the Gallery) from the Anatomy of the Ship series, so I have no doubt you're going to really enjoy this build. Look forward to following along.

All the best.

Beautiful wood and craftsmanship.  I'd hate to see all that covered by paint, but that's my opinion.

Fabulous work Marsalv B)  B) I do like that you have fitted so many bulkheads, much better for planking than the handful on Caroline :D I do agree with Mark,it would be a shame to cover that great woodwork with paint.

Kind Regards

Nigel
