Yes we all learn from what others do and how they do it and we become better in what we do, regardless what we do.. as long as we attempt to do it better. Your build inspires us all. -
Hmmm I recently acquired this kit that has been started from a gentleman who recently lost his wife and I would like to finish it up asap. I guess I need to post a build log here and will definately will be following your build Also I note that there is another Prince build on modelshipbuilder but is almost finished, a good build and a good reference.

A little more detail on this table, brand, modifications etc. Thanks for posting

That would work but not quite as accurate, I Did find these plans and by applying the 109ft should work as the under water shape is similar. If I drew out the section plans and compared them they should be similar. Thanks, guy

A method for making panelled sails using paper
the learner replied to Cathead's topic in Masting, rigging and sails
Cat head, thank you for posting your method on sail making. Interesting and well done! I am sure all who read this agree. I do plan on using paper sails for my next model as I have only used cloth at this point.- 49 replies

Looking foward to seeing your jig for the paddle wheels, any one know if Clare is still sailing?

Nice build, look foward to seeing the finished section. Thanks for jumping in with clarification on what I was asking tom. Not that I plan on building the leopard I liked how Tom was opening up some of the innards of the leopard showing how that part was constructed. My thought was to modify a POB kit build and wondred how Tom had modified his build, I was wrong! Guy

Perfect! Tom, Bluto. Yes I see a total scratchbuilt model. I was thinking to modify a kit but can see now that would would be more difficult though not impossible. Cheers, Guy

Thanks, so you did not use any part of the bulkhead keel former that you would have normally used for a POB build. The first and last pictures are great but they do not show the keel part between the POB and POF section of your build. Yes on photo #2 shows the keel for the first bulkhead going aft and I assume it is the same going foward. Perfect a complete scratch build!
-
Ok, just trying to figure out how you delt with bulkhead and built up frames on the keel. Guess I asked for TMI.

The build has progressed nicely, beautiful done and interesting. If it's not too much to ask would it be possible if available could you post a couple of pictures on how you delt with the keel in transition between POB and POF portion of your build, I know you said you used walnut for the POF, but how did you tie the walnut in with the two portions?
