    Hi Steven, I've been watching your build and it is looking great. I thought I would show you a picture of how the toggles are used on my current build the Ragusian Galley(MarisStella). I realise mine is from the 18th century and probably not anything similar to yours but it maybe of interest to you. I will gladly remove if you wish.

    One of the kits I had the most fun with was the Batelina from MarisStella. This boat gives you the taste of almost all the elements of ship building besides masting and rigging at a scale (1:10) that is so easy to work with. You will get a taste of planking,, shaping, bending and carving, all essentials of ship building. At a cost of under $100 you are not going to break the bank. They have a link on the homepage. Also check out my build in my signature, I did add a few extras but then that's what the fun is all about. Finally look for a model with a larger scale, !;48 or larger. It is much easier to learn on larger scales and it's not quite as frustrating. Good luck and have fun!!

    Beautiful work Frank. It looks like to me that the top row of rings are independent of each other and not tied together, The second row of rings are looped around the first and this row is then tied together. Just my observation. Hope this makes sense

    Hey Chris, how the heck are you? Good to see you back!! I have been a little absent myself as of late so not much new to report. I have started a Ragusian Galley which I have not started a log yet for, but I am thinking of doing so. The snow has been gone here now for about two weeks and the fire bans are on already!!! Very dry here also. As for your channels when you say "on the wales" do you mean the top edge of the wales? If so that is quite common. Take Care Bud

    Nice work on the deck Doug. When it comes time for the mast holes be sure to do some very careful measuring off of the plans. As your hole size allows use small dowels to help locate the mast steps to keep yourself aligned then gradually enlarge hole using larger dowels as you progress. Keep up the good work.
