I’m in, I recently read the history of this ship and have the Anatomy Of the Ship book for it. 

6 months at least to make it look good gents.

Really tempted to build this but I have no skill whatsoever with solder, I’d have to use CA. You’re doing a great job so far. 

The hull plates really are quite quite large aren’t they will no rivets either! That would annoy the hell out of me. You seem to have it well in hand. 

So I'm flying along and discovered I'm missing a float. Can't progress until I find a replacement.

Yep, it’s a 1972 mold OK, even with the additional PE (you pretty much can’t see any of it when closed up. 

Lots of putty will be needed yet

I haven’t built a plastic aircraft since about 1980, which matches when this kit was a re-box of a 1972 mold. 

It’s not that easy to find at a reasonable price (it cost about $30 with postage) plus a bit of PE as I can’t help myself as usual. 

its going to be nice to build something a bit bigger than usual scale and compared to HMAS Vendetta a bit less fat fingers I hope.

I live in hope they will make a USS Langley so I can build that as my third US ship, but I’m not really inspired by anything at the moment as anything I build I want to weather heavily as it’s fun. I’m really not a fan of doing that many aircraft again, so as a break I intend to do a couple of flying boats in ‘Shore Leave’. I haven’t built a plastic aircraft since the very early 1980’s.

Amazing build mate, it pops up when you Come back from work and I’m reminded of its excellence 

So I have just discovered today this is what would really have been used as a tractor!!! How cool is this? I have to make it. 

SEcond last piece to the puzzle, working on the Bf109t’s 

The kettenrad was just horrible to build. The little Kubelwagon was a bit better. Torpedo and bomb trolleys, and the Stukas are done.
