  1. Constructo makes a very challenging kit. So far you seem to have mastered it. Nice work. I have the direct e-mail if you need help from Constructo. mcarracedo@diset.com Marcos Carracedo Good luck, Rich
  2. Nice work! I also added my own frames for the gunports on my connie. It made planking the ports easier.
  3. The best advise I received from this website was to: "treat each plank as if it is its own model". That means studying then shaping each plank carefully before trying to glue it. Shaping the plank means getting the length correct, tapering it to fit top and bottom and beveling the edges to give a tight fit. Figure out how you are going to hold each plank, one at a time, until the glue dries. Don't forget you can plank from the deck down and from the keel up. It will definitely try your patience.
  4. Welcome to the mis-cut club. It seems every kit has these problems. It improves your problem solving skills (after you fill the air with profanity!)
  5. Well, the party is way up north in Cave Creek at noon and Brian lives way out west. I can't see how I can visit our great group for more than 15 - 20 minutes when I'd have to drive back to get my wife and then drive north. Like they say, stuff happens! What time do you plan to be at the Model Show in Mesa Saturday? BTW I love that Jack Aubrey book you found in Mystic. It's a very good educational book on that period. Rich
  6. Are there any problems getting PVA to hold veneer planks to DAP Spackling Compound if I use that to fill imperfections to the rough planks?
