  1. Best way to get their books. Fly to Paris and pick them up. While there go to several of the great museums that feature model ships. I found a lot of the books in several book stores. Used and new. I think that I brought back about 8 of them when my wife and I were there. Here is a pic of one of the better ship book stores there. Of course it was several years ago. The year before I had one of the books shipped to my wife's hotel. She and her mother had a great time. Later Tim
  2. Raymond On this site also, I wish you the best of luck with the build. And Enjoy the build at this scale. Later Tim
  3. Very Interesting. Well Done. Later Tim
  4. Keeping details private is fine, Good Even. In a few sales listings that I've done (other sties) I've stated "first I'll take it" is the winner. I've then stated that if you pm or email me that when I get see that email/pm I'll check in the thread and if not one has already posted an "I'll take it" then I'll post one (without name) and that will end the sale. On another site right now there are two long standings members upset and making postings how it was their purchase and who was the winner of the deal. Good Luck to everyone in dealings like this. Later Tim
  5. Another thing that might be added to the above is something like -- first posted I'll take it in the thread -- helps to stop some problems early on. I've seen some folks get real mad as to who really bought it because of an email or pm -- again posting on the thread I'll take it -- Good Thing. -- Returns --- Yes or No Something for the site and reference -- leave the item that was sold and the price that it was sold for listed in the thread. A lot of items don't sell very often and having an type of price guide line is better than nothing. My additional thoughts - ok, ideas from other sites I'm on. Later Tim
  6. Having seen pics of your great shop and the Sherline tools and other items that you have I find it hard to believe that you covered something up. I guess that you used the pics of the Alfred that was in the Science Museum that I sent you a long while ago. If you need more of them or whatever let me know. Later Tim
  7. Very Interesting idea with the light and the hedgehog is cute. Later Tim
  8. Your work on the Alfred is Great. Glad to see your stove looking so good. Enjoy. Later Tim
  9. Old thread on this type of info. http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/759-making-your-own-hobby-wood/ Later Tim
  10. At this point think long and think hard as to what you want at the very end. Thinking about the amount of work that you put in on your first build and how you did it. Do you really think that you would be happy in the end with doing anything less than another try at getting the Hahn method corrected and the way that you want it? I again say review what you want for your end project. That said GOOD LUCK in this as it's for sure your call. Later Tim
  11. Well Done Sir Well Done. I found several new ideas (at least to me) with your great cannon work. Great Job. Your carving figure work is outstanding!! Later Tim
  12. I have a set of Hahn's plans for this and will try to follow what changes that you make and someday maybe I'll give it a go also. To many others things to do between now and then for me. So I'll be sitting back watching the first string go in to do their thing. Lots of Good Wishes to you on this!! Later Tim
  13. Rather than the burn, stick in the ground, blow up or whatever. I really like the idea of your making a ship wreck scene out of it. Even with a break or two in the lines. To the folks that started this idea, I like it thinking out of the box. Or a last idea. Even if it's off in a few areas make a building scene out of it. Thinking of the cover of Harold Hahn's book. Or remove just the stern and show the building of a stern or bow. This way you are not building on the few errors (few and small to me). But making a time period building statement. Please review and don't just chainsaw it away. Later Tim
  14. Well I don't think that I can add to much to the "sorry to hear about it" comments that others have. You have worked and learned and most of the time I think "Enjoyed" the ride to the point. Good Luck on your restart. Please keep us posted in your next thread. Enjoy Later Tim
  15. Wow Good Luck with everything as you have a lot of nice tools to protect. Enjoy the drift from model engineering and steam work to model boats. But be always ready to drift with your flow of life. Enjoy is the main thing. Try to stay dry. Later Tim
  16. Way to go Robbyn. I have yet to get one completed so it's good to see yours completely done. Later Tim
  17. Everybody -- after a long break I hope to be starting back in on this in the next week or so. Wish me Good Luck in getting back to it. Found out a few days after Christmas from my daughter and her husband that my wife and I are going to be a Grandparents in August 2014 or sometime like that. I guess that I should try to finish something that they might enjoy someday rather than a lot of wood and kits sitting around. Later Tim
  18. Rusty This is late -- But way to go looks super. Good Luck on your next projects. Later Tim
  19. Outstanding Great Job. Really like the display set up. Later Tim
