  1. whatever you do.........she's turning out to be a really cool build! nice job on the masting. for deadeyes.......how about tiny buttons?
  2. looking very good Nenad .........you'll be planking and coppering before you know it!
  3. nice bit of progress Piet.........too bad that section can't be located to the port side, and make another one for the starboard {just to make it easier......cut out the repair problem nice repair of the deck.
  4. nice planking Mark..........your in the makings of a sweet looking hull!
  5. very nice work on the copper tiles.........gouing to give a nice look to your hull. If I were to vote, I would pick the semi flattened ones......on the actual ship hull, they would probably be indented slightly, so the round of the rivets would not be as prominant. whatever you choose good sir, would look good
  6. nice work on the beads and gaff.....look forward in seeing her with some color
  7. dispite the failure part.........you've given me some insight. I have been using my decal maker to produce decorations and designs for my ships........the biggest problem is the transparency issue. I have seen what Dafi has been doing with his Victory builds......he has produced some photo etch as well.........I wondered how he might have done this. this might be it! thanks for showing this.......I'm sure the admiral will jump for joy as well, when I push to get one of these I won't mention your name, I promise! besides........failure is part of getting better at it, isn't it?
  8. After thought: I should have done the 'ph' thing all through it..........then it would have looked really kool! opps! 187 now...............Hee..........Hee MORE WINE!!!!!!
  9. comodore Sjor, is so much more is so very chatty, and could drink you to the floor some folks say he can stick it ayway 1/2 pint 'o whiskey every day Aristotle, Aristotle was a beggar for the bottle 'an awefully fond of his ram 'an Winsdale Scott was a drunk'in phart I drink..... therefore I am! {edited excert from "the philosopher's drink song" by Monty Python} example: F = PH cunningly funny! thanks Frank...........only 188 more to go! I'd have something on the Goth, but I've run into technical difficulties with the Half Moon, and I'm working to resolve it.......more on that at Eleven I have to get the main mast in order now anyway........gotta be able to do the lower fore stays, before I can finish the shrouds. I'm so happy to be rigging.........thanks for the good word I always thought that 'flip flop' was a universal term!
  10. I sometimes wish I had done it this way as well...........trying to feed the shroud lines in between the masts is a bit trying. it also is tempting to rig higher up the mast, which can make it harder to run other rigging on the next mast. well.......I'm just glad to be doing 'some rigging', as I'm sure you are as well Andy. again........wonderful progress your making.......can't wait to see more
  11. I think you were speachless Kevin........I get that way sometimes when I see something this awesome! you'd be cheating yourself Augie, if you didn't build another ship about the case.........I have heard horror stories about the use of glass.......lots of folks use the plexi glass. I forget what they call that certain type, but there is some out there that resists scratches. is this something you've thought about?
  12. the party is just warming up............Augie, you just might make it to 100 after all!
  13. your shrouds are looking great........a fine beginning! lots more to go though.........have fun
  14. I know what you mean Wayne.......nothing wrong with a little banter now that I've gotten through with my work week, I can work some more on the Goth and get some more pictures up. I've been looking over the pictures again........mainly at the brace riggings. I need to tie on some more blocks.....it won't too hard though. then the mis ship needs some work.....things I want to add. more progress soon I call them flip flops as well.........Gibbs calls them chew toys though, so I have to keep an eye on them. lately, I've been having to keep an eye out for under our bed........seems to be his hide out crazy dog!
  15. you had mentioned this earlier.....but I guess it never clicked. I've finally had the chance to check this out........man!......I am so amazed at what your doing. I don't understand CAD at all......never tried it. you've come a long way........looks great! I've been wanting to get into something like this....perhaps with your help, I can understand more of it............maybe take the plunge down the road. count me in to be following your exploits!
  16. I thought the dilemma was just a Mirage {little play on words}. I'm sure it's just the way the build is going.......we'll know more when the next keel is laid
  17. I use the Testor's glues extensively...red tube.....green tube and the bottle {a bit more liquid than the tube}. they have a brown tube that can be used on wood, but it aimed towards aircraft with gas engines. nice to know the green tube can be used on those copper plates.
  18. superb start! you must have known that you'd be building 'side' models for your model how many are you making? look forward in seeing the 'mini' fleet!
  19. it happens......wouldn't be scratch if it didn't the fact that you have things well in hand, shows that it really isn't a problem at all. here's to a smooth recovery
  20. I think I have about 206 posts to go before that happens.........the like button makes it harder for me. I'm glad your saving a seat for me though.........I'll get there soon enough Sjors is ready to put me in a rocking chair.......I don't think so.........buddy, I'm about to double the amount of empty bottles lying about.......I'll drink you under the table! thanks Sherry.........I enjoyed the banter..........yea, I'm to the point where I need readers too {only 1.25} but.......I do have a pair of 2.0 glasses that I wear sometimes when working on my builds. thanks for looking in and the good word
  21. it's a lot nicer when HE has control of the camera....LOL! it's OK Sjors.....I can understand..........I thought it was kinda fun, making three times the amount of oars needed........just to get four that matched! don't feel alone.....I had never made them either you build looks great, by the way!
  22. thank you Augie, for showing us this fine build and the beautiful ship that came of it. good luck on your fishing trip, and have fun on your vacation trip........I hope to see another build from you soon! absolutely stunning build!
