looking super OC........you do nice work on figures
Its a challenge denis as the plastic the figures is made from is that horrible soft stuff and cant very well be sanded/cut/scraped or filed, it tends to leave little rough pieces stuck to it and cutting the base's away to just leave the feet is another pain.

Loved catching up on your progress OC, not usually a fan of figurines, but those figures fit right and give a great sense of scale. You really did a great job painting them, and the rigging is looking terrific.
Thank you sincerely for saying that Jason, really means a lot.

hmmmmm, I think women were bad luck on these ships. captain's choice though
Elizabeth Swann was frequently on the pearl because of her links with the RN commodore (farther) and closeness to Will Turner.

Very cool OC! I can't seem to find non-ship builds or understand 'pointy end'
PS I think I found it under 'shore leave', I will check it out and maybe even post there.
"Pointy end" was about planes having a pointed nose (most of them) would be good if you started an aircraft build yourself.

Thanks OC. It is a fabulous model to work on. My only problem with it is that I simply can't find the boat to follow it with. This really was - and continues to be - my dream build. With that said, some of Chris Watton's future offerings look very tempting. It would just be a question of space.
Having build a Frigate, I don't think I'd want to do anything with more guns. I find the the repetition is somewhat wearing beyond a certain point. I'd also need to find somewhere to put them!
Anyway - plenty of work still to do on this one yet.
Yep I understand about the guns - I was feeling the same with my Greyhound build - and I hadn't even got to the canons yet.

As I start adding the wales,I need to decide which paint scheme to use. The plans show 2 different paint schemes - one has the black & yellow following the line of the wales, the other has the black & yellow following the line of the gunports. The first would be relatively easy with the wales black & yellow between the wales. The second would require a LOT of masking & trying to get a straight line over different thicknesses. Since I am not the best at painting I am leaning toward the easier one, which seems to be the pre-1798 style according to the plans.

Sounds like a plan mate, I think painting across different profiles is very akward even with masking.

So well said.
