The report for the construction of the French Corvette goes on as follows:

With the production of the cover for the hammocks I had begun some time ago. First, I made the Hammocks cranes.

In the further progress I make the wooden mold, which was then coated with the canvas of fine fabrics.

May I ask what you use as finisher for the wood, Is it oil?

The surface treatment of the wood I use this

In Germany it is called "Ballenmattierung" because is applied it with a lint-free cloth

many thanks for the nice comments and the likes.

According to a note I made a new attempt for the canvas.
The new Canvas made of silk has a finer weave structure.
The previous version was made of linen material.
I think that the new version is closer to the original.

On that scale it makes quite a difference, Johann. There is not something which comes to mind which has a finer weave. What kind of silk did you use?

For the linen, what thread count did you use?  There are cotton fabrics with very high thread count that may be closer to scale.   Regardless, your work is of the highest quality.

I would like to thank for motivating words and also for the many LIKES.

Currently I concern myself with the question regarding the shape of the dead-eyes.
Many documents and pictures of the LA CREOLE showing dead-eyes with round shape, as can be seen here:

But in the official documents of 1833 the dead-eyes have an "oval" shape.
For appropriate information, I would be greatly appreciated.
