HI ALL

DECK HAS NOW BEEN PLANKED

UNFORTUNATELY I DRILLED THE HOLES IN ONE PLANK IN THE WRONG PLACE!!!!! DOH!!!

OUT CAME THE ISO....THANKFULLY IT CAME OUT QUITE EASILY....PHEW!

I CAN NOW MOVE FORWARD AND START MAKING THE DECK FITTINGS.....ONCE IVE SANDED THE DECK SMOOTH

THE CLAMPS I MADE EARLIER PROVED TO HAVE A FEW ISSUES WITH THEM.......SO THE BOXWOOD WAS REPLACED WITH ALUMINIUM....PROBABLY DOWN TO ME USING 3MM THREAD RATHER THAN THE UNF THREAD.

THATS ALL FOR NOW FOLKS

3MM BRASS ALLTHREAD

3MM BRASS THUMB NUTS

3.2MM DRILL

2.5MM DRILL

HI ALL

SOME MINOR WORKS HAVE OCCURRED RECENTLY ALTHOUGH NOT AS MUCH AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED.

SHIPS PUMPS ARE DONE......WOODEN PARTS FROM STEAMED PEAR , HANDLE BRACKET FROM BLACKEND BRASS AS IS DISCHARGE PIPE AND STRAPPING BANDS FROM BLACK PAPER.

ALL TEN EQUALLY SPACED HOLES HAVE BEEN DRILLED......THEY NOW NEED SQUARING OFF.

IVE ENCLOSED PHOTOS OFF THE SET UP FOR DRILLING WHICH IS A LITTLE HEATH ROBINSON BUT IT WORKS.

ONCE THE CAPSTAN IS FINISHED IT WILL BE TIME TO START PLANKING INBOARD...IN STEAMED PEAR.

THE PHOTOS SHOW SOME DRAWINGS OF A CAPSTAN AND SHIPS PUMP FROM AOTS ENDEAVOUR WHICH IS OF THE SAME TIME PERIOD AND I USED AS A PRIMARY REFERENCE.

CHEERS FOR NOW....MICK

Hi carl

A bit of improvisation goes a long way.......need to make a new baseboard with a few more functions for the roatary table to bolt to.....other than that its worked quite well.

The pumps are version 3......frustrating little buggers to get right!

Oh well its of too work we go......

Cheers for now

He, ho ... he, ho ...

Couldn't you make a baseboard with a cross cutout so you can slide the rotary table in different positions ... just a thought popping up ...
