thats thin wire🤪 nice buckets though:dancetl6:

I don’t know, part of me thinks it is a soap bubble on the bucket 😁

Seriously though, nice bucket and nice garage sale find!

Thank you very much, John!

Thank you all very much for stopping by and for the likes!

All 21 buckets are assembled:

I’m waiting on them to finish drying, then I’ll add a drop of glue on each side of the handles and then paint the buckets.

I thank everyone for your support.

I apologize, but the Victory is starting to aggravate me again.

I'm going to take a step back and build a schooner.  I have started a build log for the schooner Hannah from the mid-1760s over in the scratch build section.

The last time I did this, my progress on Victory increased exponentially after I finished my side project.

Sad that you stop the Victory. Think I have to do my own build blog. But I can understand you I haved stop the build since 1975 more and more times and now I hope to beginn again with the Victory because I was in Portsmouth last Year and see that wonderfull ship in 1:1 scale. Hope you put it not so far away from the Table.

I can totally relate to your experience. Sometimes it's better to step back and revisit the ship later with fresh ideas when inspiration strikes again. Sad to see a pause to your build but I will jump across and follow your new build too 😉

The Victory still sits on my work table.  She just shares it now with the other one.

I will finish Victory, I have too much time and money invested in her to give up, lol.  I just need a break.

Thank you all for the comments and the likes!

The Victory is still pending being finished.  Life is busy and progress has been correspondingly slow on the Hannah.  Once I finish Hannah I will finish Victory.

When I get done with Hannah, I really need to add scuppers.  I just realized that I forgot them on this model, which is not okay, given the amount of detail that I have attempted (and succeeded with) so far.

I added them to the Prince de Neufchatel and the Hannah, but not this one.

Considering the Victory will be the flagship of my collection until I build something better, I owe it to myself to put forth maximum effort and exert maximum skill on this.

The Victory is still pending.  I’ve been incredibly busy in life and haven’t had time to finish the Hannah, which only needs sails and the running rigging to be finished.

The Hannah is done.

That makes a total of 2 scratch built ships that I have made.

I am over half completed on a 1/48 B-25 (plastic kit with custom paint job and markings).  I started it yesterday once I decided that I had finished the Hannah.

Being a plastic kit, that should only need one more good weekend to complete and then game on for the Victory.

I’m starting to look at Victory’s AOTS plans again.

It looks like I really don’t have much left to make.

I need some railings, mounting brackets for the fire buckets, the lanterns, a chart cubby for the quarter deck, some hammock cranes, netting,  the marines walk, some davits, a set of ships boats, some chainplates, a few other misc fittings and then on to masting, rigging and sails.

It sounds like a lot, but on this ship, that’s not a whole lot left.

The hard part’s done.

I still need to finish a bomber (the B-25), but that will be quick.

Here are the updated pictures of the Victory:

It looks like the rigging sprung on a carronade and the figurehead needs some minor work.  Otherwise, the Victory looks like she’s in good shape.
