It has been my experience that figures in this scale are very hard to find. Especially non English figures. Looking forward to what becomes available.

3D seaman takes a lot of time from drawing to production, and it's a huge project, which I will continue to increase, including officers, combat status, British, French... These themes are very many, but very fun

1: 64 or 72 percent will be gradually produced, which is very convenient,

I haven't started WW1 and WW2 themes yet, which should take a little time. Now the general themes are 1:350

 1/64 scale  warships, super huge👍

It is truly a hard area of the hobby to fill, as it seems everyone has a different desire and size wish. I personally wish you luck and success Tom, as I also enjoy having people on my models to help bring them alive.

I am beginning the build of a model of a Finnish armoured cruiser Ilmarinen in 1/64 scale. It was 93 metres long, resulting to a model length of nearly 1,5 metres, so not really very long. But it would be nice to get a bunch of seamen on board.

Very nice, Tom. At some point in the future I can envision having these printed on 3D color printers. I have seen examples in  miniaturemuseums such as Gulliver's gate in New York and they are very realistic. Price, though, is a bit high for now but I'll bet people would be willing to pay for a realistic period crew.

Even one figure on or near a model sets the scale in the viewer's mind.  Very nice pieces.

That's certainly true Maury. I commissioned a few figures long ago from Dynamic Dioramas in 1:48 scale for my dockyard model. I think they add nicely to the final display. The sawyers are an homage to Harold Hahn's diorama in the Mariners Museum.

Painting such figures realistically is quite easy.  I just follow the methods used by war gamers.  Block in the colours, don’t bother painting eyes, etc.  Drybrush with lighter shades and use the “dip” method to bring them alive.  I use the “Army Painter” dips with excellent results.

i love figure on ships and they really bring the model to life.

Well done Tom!   I’d also love some modern and WW2 figures in 1/96 to 1/72 scale.   Sign me up!

cheers,

kerry
