Tamiya Olive Drab is WAY too dark for what I'm trying to do right here.

I know, Testors is the closest to fresh OD that has fully cured. Period US OD green goes on very green when wet and when it finally completely cures, is when it leans towards that ever so slight brownish tint. Sun fading brings out the tint even more.....

Looks like it is fresh out of the repair depot..... The green on the cable on the winch is a dead giveaway to that, (paint doesn't matter on a winch cable) within six months of use that green will be gone and you will have shiny tempered steel (blueblack gunmetal color) with streaks of black grease from the lube.....

Nice work so far, I'm sure it's going to fit right into whatever scenario you wish to put it in...

Thanks Denis. That's my grand daughter by the way.

Here is my wife and our 4 daughters. Wife is on the far left, standing next to her is the mother of the grand daughter. I took this photo right after our youngest daughter was baptized.

Three generations here, ALL boys. The only girls are our two grand daughters who live hundreds of miles away! Only girls here are my wife and our cat. My wife of course ALWAYS wanted a girl. I was happy to bypass that ordeal!:stunned: I have heard too many horror stories from fathers of teen girls!

Please ignore the bit about being left out of conversations. No offence intended.

I have 2 daughters, a son, and 2 granddaughters. Both daughters have their Doctorates, EdD and PhD Epidemiology.   The oldest just celebrated her 25th anniversary as a cancer research Epidemiologist at the world's oldest cancer research institution (hint : it's in western NY), the younger got her EdD 4 years ago. The oldest granddaughter graduated from college last week and the youngest graduates next week from 8th grade.  My son is an artist, as in Fine Art painter, and Professional Painter, commercial and residential.

And oh did I mention I have 5 younger sisters and 2 younger brothers 😁

We are definitely in the rainy season now. This is an afternoon ritual this time of year. Thunderstorms in the afternoon will turn into thunderstorms in the mornings later in the summer as the prevailing winds change from east-to-west to west-to-east. These storms now develop over the Atlantic and move west across the state toward the Gulf of Mexico.

Have you decoded how your going to rig it yet? it looks naked without it's cables... {chuckle} ( i know your not finished yet) a suggestion? the canvas top would look more realistic in Field Drab, it's what happened to OD green dyed canvas when it completely dried....

Excellent build on an old classic......

The cable rigging is described in the instructions but won't add it until the end. Don't go by anything you currently see as a final color. This is only the base color on which it all gets built (the paint that is), layer upon layer.
