Dear friends,

thank you  very much for your comments and kind words, I am pleased reading your posts.

Hi Doris.
Truly excellent work on everything. Nothing is less than 100%
You are outstanding in your class of modeling.
Is it possible to cast the guns using the cast metal one as a master ? Using blended paper and clay with PVA glue.
Have seen this done a long time ago but cannot find where on the net.

Regards Antony.

Well, I tried various possibilities, but I have my favourite technology, how to make the guns from paper, I will show it here. Maybe it will be useful for somebody.

I have finished other carriages, fortunately there are only eight pieces... B) :

And also there are finished all guns/barrels - made of paper, wood and clay. Here you can see pics from the process step by step.

I followed this photo of real English cannons from 18th century:

They are better than the ones I turned in a lathe :(

Stunning artistry Doris, you make it look so easy, I would never have guessed the cannons were not metal.

Hello dear friends,
Your compliments are a great honour for me and are much appreciated. Thank you very much for your support.
Well, I still find new ways and try to improve my work to get better results. I make models mainly for a joy and pleasure. :)

Another supplement to the flags printing (because more people asked me questions):

I could not watch my friend during printing the flags, he lives in the other side of your country and sent me printed flags by mail. He told that it is necessary to print each side of the flag 2-3 times in the laser printer to achieve higher quality of colours. I suppose the batiste keeps on the sheet of paper with self adhesive tape during printing.  And of course you must print each time exactly to the same place - both sides, to achieve perfectly overlap.

Kind regards

Doris

Doris,

Astonishing talent. You are amazing - so creative. Those cannons are "ridiculous"  Please, the idiom of this word, for us in the USA, is used in context when something is so outstanding that many words are needed, but we can't think of them so we just say "that's ridiculous" then add a few more words (:-)

Dear Michael,

Thank you very much for your kind words, I appreciate them a lot. And also thanks for possibility to learn new English words; I would like to improve my language skills. I feel good when I am able to understand foreign language.

In our country we say - how many languages you know, so many times you are a human. B)

All cannons are ready to place on deck, now I am working on the tackle.

Hello Albert and thank you very much for your compliment, I am pleased.

Yesterday I completed remaining cannons. The ropes have a strong impregnation - I use for this a glue (thinned by water). This will allow to change the shape of ropes (after gentle re-soaking) and after drying the shape is already fixed.
