    Welcome Andrew! Plenty of ex-military around here. A build log is always welcome. There you can show off your work, ask questions etc. There is always lots to learn and this is a great helpful and friendly place to do it.

    Very nice progress. I am following along closely as I should have some time soon to get back to my build.

    I saw someone here once make a small jig out of a block of wood with 2 nails. Each nail was on a different face of the wood and then after they wrap the line around that the nails they then wetted down the line with dilute white glue and let it dry. Once they took the nails out the coil was bent at an angle. And when they laid it on top of the belaying pin it seem to drape over the side and hang down straight.

    Great news glad she is doing better. While I voted wholeheartedly for the cross section I am also interested in the Chebacco as well. It looks like an interesting project.

    I really like that cross section. It gives so much in a small package that is able to be accomplished in a reasonable timeframe.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
