  1. Thanks for the likes and the comments gents Welcome aboard, and thank you Rob. Though my eyesight is largely supported by an optical visor, which makes things quite doable Denis, Good to see you here. Thank you for the thumbs up! I know Sam, forgot to ask you to supervise. Remind me next time ... or should I ask that red head project manager from Wayne ??? Denis, Always appreciate your comments. High praise from the creative builder! Not much to show, some programing problems on my mind, which need to be solved and implemented by Wednesday. Last night in the dark as we had a power faillure in my region. Very hard to do the PE at candle light, I can disadvise to even try it!!! Currently removing some plastic detail on the hull, which will be replaced by better detailed PE parts Cheers
  2. OC, That's nasty, I do wish you a speedy recovery for as far as a full recovery is possible. Take care of those hands of yours, we can wait!
  3. As Banyan wrote. The Japanese are clean and keep their properties well maintained. WWII was still a feudal period for Japan, not complying to rules/regulations had certainly severe consequences, which means maintenance would not have been passed over lightly. You might sooner go to far weathering than not on Japanese ships
  4. When I look at the frequency these battleships were in harbour, I would expect them to be reasonably well maintained. Besides that, I thought the Japanese to be quite stringent in maintenance of their materials and "equipement"
  5. Thanks, Greg. You should be happy, at least I would be! Smashing job !!!
  6. You've been rather busy with your airbrush and brushes. I really do like the effects you create with it ... very inspiring! The "flight deck" has some big concrete slabs on it. When I look at my PE parts for it, both Fly Hawk and Pontos have far smaller slabs. Do you know if that is the result of the new information gathered from the wrecks?
  7. Triplets Very nice result Igor. The two lifeboats keep the ship nicely ballanced. I love that transparent sea though, that really makes the ship realistic
  8. Thank you , Johann. I misjudged the length. Thought that ruler to be longer. Still must be difficult enough to get it right
  9. Thanks for all the likes, and comments Thanks OC. I'll put some rafts underneath to keep it afloat Thanks Pat, I'm not yet halfway through my PE stack ... I need to keep my focus, as some parts can't be fixed before they are painted, because painting the part afterwards will be (partly) impossible
  10. Neither is smoking (exhaust fumes), drinking, and ultimately: living But I have managed to stick'em on the plastic instead of meself I'm not into juwelry, or piercings for that matter
  11. Thanks Ken. Tomorrow I've some more fiddly diddly photographs The only thing missing is the smoke after firing Pat Thanks Mark. Though I haven't yet tasted it, i.e. the sweet metal ... (other name for brass? ) Thanks 'arry I'm waiting in anticipation on your first PE build!! The only thing I've been doing is sticking PE to plastic or other PE parts. It seems endless ... though I have to admit that it does make a whole lot of difference. I am also quite happy I bought both Fly Hawk and Pontos detail up sets ... more pictures soon ... Cheers
  12. Thanks for the likes and your generous comments, gents. It was rather a challenge to get it setup in the form of a real tripod. Jack, I will remember that one! Thank you
  13. sorry, can't seem to get the proper image sequence on this new site. Can't see the raw message text either to manipulate it. Limited functionality compared to the previous version I have experienced so far - haven't found documentation either (yet)
  14. Found some blast bags for the 15mm turret guns in the Pontos update set. I changed the gun mounts for them, started on the mounts off the 46" guns rear most one finished, the other two to do. I must, however, raise the guns for the rear one of the two, else the barrels will get all tangled up in the railing. Yesterday I started at 22:00 and finished today at 03:00 on the trypod mast just behind the funnel.
  15. Nice progress, sturdy framework too. It will be very difficult to twist that keel with those frames
  16. Nice result, and an interesting display setting! It looks vikingish enough
