  1. That's a way of looking at it, but you will have to do a lot more cleaning You missed the one gent hiding behind the ship on the right
  2. A Chinese proverb ... nice one and very apt. Keep it up, I enjoy your log, small or large updates I've a soft spot for this one: "Life is very simple, but we forcefully make it complicated"
  3. Nice deck When you have your deck furnishings all installed, will there be a lot left to be seen. It's a black deck, smudges and things will be hardly visible ... when you add all the fittings, guns, etc do you really require to stain it ... I would give the pastels a go if I had to weather it. You might "warp" it with paint ...
  4. Dick, I read on another forum, someone used paper handkerchiefs and formed them over a baloonish formed bottle (something like the Chianti "basket" bottles) Can't recall whether he used white glue or something else
  5. Your visual well being, or is it being visually impaired, didn't pose a problem cutting that gun carriage, although, you have got some major burns on them ... not possible to get less smouldered wood on the sides?
  6. Quite CDW, but a jig saw isn't that easy, these will always fit, no matter what. Greg, Nice pastime you've chosen ... I thought you were building a battleship ... you now seem to be working for the amunition dept. Do you have to fill the boxes too? Haven't found that PE sheet in my set ... am I just lucky ...?
  7. Hope it turns out alright Nenad. I keep my fingers crossed it can be done in the short term
  8. Interesting ship the Isuzu. Can imagine the posibilities to update. Could be better, thanks for asking. Got mangled by a fysiotherapist. The sadistic type. Got more problems with it afterwards than before. I'll live.
  9. Ouch. You shouldn't play with containers, use a crane less chance of dropping it. Glad it were merely sandbags you lost, barrels e.a. are a bit more tricky to replace. Be careful An inside job ... sounds frightning, mate. I presume it is a desk job you mean ... You might have a go at the Yukikaze (destroyer), has some nice PE sets to it, or the IJN sub I-400, also with detail up sets ...
  10. It's always a big pleasure to look at your work, Johann, and especially how you create it.
  11. Well done Tony, you have another lovely base. Very educational building log. Looking forward to your next one
  12. Didn't know you could Nice jigg though. Should remeber for when I finally buy a table saw .......
  13. hmmm, lots and lots of detail still to add, Greg. I see you have to add that platform at the fore foot of the funnel too. Not yet sprayed or ... awaiting your attention Couldn't do a lot last week ... a back injury, and a software release coming up. The former really is a pain, the latter just annoying
  14. I see they've improved on a lot of mounting points on the model itself too. Again very shady grey Greg. you've got it primed ... paint and weathering ... must be difficult on the superstructure. Really looking forward how you will tackle that
  15. Now you know what you've started at, although, you are nearly finished, those guns form the bulk of the work to my impression. A lot of the same, on the other hand you can swap with other builders nearby Nice colourful collection, Greg.
  16. Kees, I want one too, said the child in me!! Gawd, some very beautiful tripplet models you have created. The rigging, yes, I can imagine you may find some difficulty with it, but you will succeed, knowing you. I really do love the "night view". The clear light around the cabin and the darkness all around ... stunning. Those two new owners should be very, very pleased with their respective model!!
  17. You made it! an update even a small one is worth the waiting Jesse. Good to see her with the carronades secured. Very sorry you didn't get any better, but the contrary. As ever, you and your family are in my thoughts. Try to keep your spirits up Looking forward to a future update. Cheers
  18. You can't keep off the charts entirely, but you can try at least. I don't do it for work, but I hate the loss of privacy, especially without my conscent. I won't tell mate
