  1. Despite the fact that you detest sanding, you've got it rather smooth. Looking at it from this side, it could be like a baby's bum ....
  2. What's a mere 4" on your scale ... a measly 1/8". Well you have always been a big spender, haven't you now ... It is looking great, I see the Deathstar hasn't passed by the timbers yet. Better to find out the mistake than not at all. At least you can correct it from hereon. As long as you make the mistakes, we do not have to make them, although, we still might
  3. So why do you make 2mm square holes. Those pins will fall through ...??? Even a greater feat, Robin. But it's 38 mmm
  4. Might be glued to the work bench, Bob ... lets send Piet by to inform ... When came Mathew by??
  5. I believe the 3.5 cm when you get a ruler alongside it. When I look at it and use the pins at 2mm I would sooner calculate it 70mm. Even if it is that size, It is still a jolly good piece of work. The square holes is a feat on itself
  6. Nearly went cold turkey ... bujt you made up for it! Your seats turned out rather spectacular. I don't think I will take a chance getting some rays on that sun deck, not with the double engine
  7. Nenad, You could use some plastic, and paint in in a beige weathered look. If you use cloth the weave of the material will probably be to course for the scale you build, as you wrote ...
  8. Greg, A Yamato for Mr Taylor, please, New Tool, and advanced PE detail up from ... hmmm ... let's try the Pontos set for a change That should keep him busy for a little while ...
  9. Hear, hear Greg!!! DR1954, That is some smashing looking flightdeck, and very nice details you added, she is turning out quite a beauty!
  10. Looks pretty good, Steven. If you have zoom on your camera, try a bit more distance and zoom in. Sometimes that makes just the difference ...
  11. Greg, The internet drives me nuts from time to time. Even when you type in an identical search you might end up with different results altogether. Such a wealth(?) of information, it is hard to make a choice. The only advise I can give you when you startup your airbrush. Take your time. Practice, and practice some more, and when you think you've got it .... you certain foul a piece Get some blu-tack to keep small items from sliding/being blown away by the airflow. Even an 20mm gun with it's mount will move around
  12. Mark, probably Vivian Galad's Red Dragon Frank have a look here, you will have to browse her build a bit, but the picture in the topic shows that Mark's remark was spot on Cheers
  13. Nice work Elijah. Don't start with "The fore deck is a lot less crowded, so I don't think it will take long." You should take the time needed, you are not in a rush, it's not F1, or Indy 500 (to keep it in your neck of the woods) have fun
  14. Digital, is still about light, mate. I know some forum posts (not msw though) with weathering of ships if you are interested. Have to look them up, but that's no bother ...
  15. Very nice work Jason, although, I have my reservations about the flipped windows. Some considerations: - On your second image from the top they look wide, and low compared to the windows enclosing them - on you last image, the central window looks tall and narrow compared to those besides her Cheers
  16. So far very informative, and impressive. Great build to follow. Do you use Tamiya paints and putty allways, or different brands too? Up to superstructure and turrets? When I look at her, she seems larger than the kit I have. Can't wait to start her, but had some central heating problems to fix last weekend.
  17. You can always repaint the first Looks good though. Will you be blackening the brass?
  18. You're making bucket seats!!! Guys, the captain wants to do some waterskiing, double tempo. Those seats almost look comfi, Robin. Nice work!
  19. That's a great winch, you are getting you deckfurniture on with all it's tidbits
  20. Hello Simon, I would first fill, and then sand. You might need to add filler after the first sanding, and re-sand, maybe even a third time ... Cheers
  21. There are plenty of those in the scratch build forum. But EdT has some real nice ones, furthermore, you could try Archjofo's builds I like his tutorialS a lot I wonder if those guys at Moamoli's even thought about anything
