  1. I agree with pear, although holly bends very well also.
  2. Whoops - a bark she is. A brig she was. Thank you for the correction. Frolick!
  3. Definitely a Victorian era brig.
  4. Keith needs a lacey-faire attitude, I think. Then he can tie up safely.
  5. Hopefully there are some nearby eyelets to swim over to.
  6. I suppose if she takes on water, she may heel over....
  7. Depending on their diameter, Keith, if there is a suitably sized Forstner style drill bit available, it will cut clean holes for you. Alternatively, drill a smaller diameter hole and carefully open it out using a broach.
  8. Amalio: isn't it easier to clean up PVA glue squeeze-out with a damp (or wet) brush before it dries? That's been my practice for years.
  9. Now you can ring 'full speed ahead!' Nicely done, Keith. It looks much better.
  10. Fascinating arrangement, Dick. About how many degrees of rudder rotation does this allow?
  11. Just don't open the door to let in a breeze! Looking very impressive now, Rob.
  12. Chuck Doan's work is quite amazing! I see where you get your inspiration from. I would not have believed I was looking at a scale model unless his hand was in the picture. Thanks for the url, Gary.
  13. I use a regular butane torch for melting pewter, not the small size. It's quicker! Looking really nice so far.
  14. Michael's not ready to give up yet! That handle looks very nice, Keith.
  15. While I've not found this necessary, I'm glad that basswood spiled patterns work better for you!
  16. I absolutely agree with everything Vossiewulf has written. Surgical cleanliness required! One other type of airbrush that avoids the long, easily damaged needles is the Aztec. This has screw-on interchangeable cartridge tips and is easier to clean and faster to change colors.
  17. Not to be critical; but I can't understand, as you make the bulkheads in two halves to start with, why you would not have incorporated the keel assembly at that stage. Am I missing something? At any rate, your solution is interesting!
