  1. Very well done, Giorgio. Beautiful work. I like that addition of the small cross-section and lets the viewer know how the hull was constructed. And figures do bring it to life.
  2. One a POB, the spacing of the bulkheads can be a problem when planking depending on how far apart the bulkheads are. Filling in between bulkheads will solve this issue. With a POF, it's not a problem as the frames are fairly close to each other.
  3. In use, the inhaul was usually not in place on the guns as it got in the way while serving the gun. This, of course, was dependent on the officer in charge. If not fitted, they could use one of the training tackles for this or (again subject to practices) there would be one hung near the gun in case it was needed. The only reason it was really needed would be if for some reason the gun didn't recoil during firing or to remove the shot and powder after action.
  4. Check to see if your inbox is full. There's a limit to the number of PM's.
  5. I"m not sure, myself. But... the Billings is far more accurate than the Corel. The Billings kit has been updated as research on the recovered wreck has made new info available. I'm not sure Billings is updating the kit anymore as I've not read of any new research findings.
  6. Dadgummit. You're right. I guess I need to get off your lawn.
  7. I agree with Allan. Here's the section with all the tutorials. Look through them, and pick the one you think will work for you. https://modelshipworld.com/forum/98-planking-downloads-and-tutorials-and-videos/
  8. Everyone of you paintings is pure eye candy and feast for the eyes of detail and mood. Just amazing work.
  9. Can you be more specific..? Wood or plastic? Country?
  10. Looking very good, Kevin. It looks like from the pictures you have built quite a few POF's. It depends on the wood, how well it was seasoned, and where it was cut from the log and also same tree or different trees. But generally, with age, it does darken quite a bit and becomes pretty uniform. But that's my experience and yours or anyone else's may vary.
  11. Lovely work, Chris. I think the ship looks great. Will you be doing a separate review in the "Review" area, Chris? I think that would be a good thing.
  12. Well, with the war going on, it's possible the barge was needed more. On the other hand, if they hadn't what would have happened to her during the war? Still a sad ending.
  13. I too am running behind on this. I received my calendar the other day and it's great. Worth every penny.
  14. Welcome to MSW, Tom for a former Buckeye. Do start a build log when you're ready as it's a great way to get help and meet other builders.
  15. Beautiful work and so much detail. She's a work of art, Vladamir.
  16. Welcome to MSW, Eugenio.
  17. Welcome to MSW, Broat. There is a topic called "Where do you do yours?" Have a look and you'll see how messy some of us are. Then again, some cleaned up their workspace to post there and when in build logs you'll often see the true state of play... or work..
  18. I quite agree, I'll look into it.
  19. After planking, you'll still have a bunch of work to do the hull. I usually wait until pretty much everything but rigging is done. But then, I also I don't stain or paint, I only put on a finish and some parts get the finish as I do them since I won't be able to have access after a certain point. My take is that it's one of those things you pretty much have to sort it out as you go. If you don't have to glue anything, then it's ok to finish it.
  20. Welcome to MSW, Mike. Sadly, I can't help with the questions. But do start a log as it's a good way to get help. Also, if you'll go to the top of the page you'll find a search box. Enter the key word "Radio" and in the pull down, pick "Titles only". You should get a lot of hits on logs and general discussions. There is also a discussion area for RC kits here: https://modelshipworld.com/forum/32-rc-kits-scratch-building/
  21. Love that stern shot, Gary. And thanks for pointing out the dry transfers as I haven't seen or used them in years.
  22. Beautiful work on this, Joe. I think you've gone way beyond what the kit would have provided.
  23. Hi Richard, Here's the instructions on how to upload photos:
  24. Nice work, Jerry. I'm glad you've found your way here to logs. I have no idea about your questions as to an answer. Hopefully, you'll get one.
  25. Welcome back, Mitsuaki,. I'm happy to see your return. The gun ports came out very well.
