  1. Good buy on the manual, Tom. Can't have too many books for car models, aircraft manuals, or ships.
  2. I'm liking the paint job but not the windows. I hope the sanding/polishing works out.
  3. John, There's something weird about your drawings. I can't put my finger on it though. Gary is right. I'm attaching a cross section for a ship I'm building that might help you also.
  4. Great to see you got past the issues, Patrick. Sapphire is gorgeous. I don't see more you can do except put her on a stand. Or take her for a spin to nice island.
  5. I'm looking at your latest I was thinking it looks like the engine will fire up and work. The devil is in the details and you nailed it.
  6. Ah, the joys of getting older. I heard the cell phone about week and ago and couldn't find it. It was in my pocket. I'm just about ready for the home.
  7. That maybe very well what was done. Much of the details were "common knowledge" and not shown on any document except the contract. Even then it may not have been mentioned.
  8. Can you be a bit more precise about "edges"? The edge on the bulwark side is covered by the waterway.
  9. I guess I'm going blind. I don't see the problem. I have seen a couple Bentley's in real life and your's fits what I've seen.
  10. The photos like great. I suggest you start a build log in the kit area.
  11. Welcome aboard, Per Rise. You've done excellent work on those ships. I hope you'll do a log so we can follow along.
  12. Vladamir, I think we all have those moments when our brains go mushy. I"m lucky I haven't forgotten my name yet. Gary, thank you. I"m not sure about the 'real shipbuilder' part though.
  13. Both look good, Yves. From here, that's going to be tough call on which one to use.
  14. Welcome to MSW. I hope you'll start a build log when you decide on model.
  15. I'm not liking that either, OC. Re-injuring an old injury is no fun and probably hurts more than the first time. Getting old ain't for sissies they say.
  16. Looks good, MadDog. That is a very nice recovery. I can promise you that the 37,000 member will keep your "oops" a secret.
  17. I think many of us have made messes mixing paint. Try the shaking with what's been suggested by us.
  18. The final result looks good, Josh. Don't beat yourself up because we are our own worst critics.
  19. Thanks. Not to bad actually. I have couple of cut off pieces of plastic pipe in various dimensions. Wrap the paper around it and it does curves nicely.
  20. The other method I've read about but never tried it, is an small electric or battery operated drill and an old flat bit. Use a drill as it's slow enough. Put the bit in the bottle, hit the switch, and mixed paint.
  21. Very impressive especially with the planes be recovered and readied for launch.
  22. If the paint is in a jar or can for brushing, drop a small ball-bearing or even a small nut into it before shaking. If you have an old empty spray can, make sure it's depressurized completely, punch a hole in it and use the ball from the can. As a kid, we sometimes used small rocks (washed and dried thoroughly), fishing sinkers, etc.
  23. I remember seeing a kit for the brig Eagle from Corel. But that's been about the only one. There are scratch builds of her so plans are available but I don't know where to look for them.
  24. Welcome to MSW, Guy. Once you decide on a model, start a log as it's a great way to get help when there's a problem.
