1930 BENTLEY 4.5 LITRE by MadDogMcQ - AIRFIX 1:12th Scale

Good buy on the manual, Tom. Can't have too many books for car models, aircraft manuals, or ships. -
Great to see you got past the issues, Patrick. Sapphire is gorgeous. I don't see more you can do except put her on a stand. Or take her for a spin to nice island.

I'm looking at your latest I was thinking it looks like the engine will fire up and work. The devil is in the details and you nailed it. -
That maybe very well what was done. Much of the details were "common knowledge" and not shown on any document except the contract. Even then it may not have been mentioned.

I guess I'm going blind. I don't see the problem. I have seen a couple Bentley's in real life and your's fits what I've seen. -

The photos like great. I suggest you start a build log in the kit area. -
Welcome aboard, Per Rise. You've done excellent work on those ships. I hope you'll do a log so we can follow along.

Welcome to MSW. I hope you'll start a build log when you decide on model.

Looks good, MadDog. That is a very nice recovery. I can promise you that the 37,000 member will keep your "oops" a secret. -

The final result looks good, Josh. Don't beat yourself up because we are our own worst critics. -
Very impressive especially with the planes be recovered and readied for launch.

If the paint is in a jar or can for brushing, drop a small ball-bearing or even a small nut into it before shaking. If you have an old empty spray can, make sure it's depressurized completely, punch a hole in it and use the ball from the can. As a kid, we sometimes used small rocks (washed and dried thoroughly), fishing sinkers, etc.

I remember seeing a kit for the brig Eagle from Corel. But that's been about the only one. There are scratch builds of her so plans are available but I don't know where to look for them.

Welcome to MSW, Guy. Once you decide on a model, start a log as it's a great way to get help when there's a problem.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
